BBC News is the world’s most trusted source for impartial news. At BBC Studios, our Global News Team delivers and commercializes BBC’s news and fact-based content across digital platforms (Web, App, Streaming and off-platform) to audiences outside the UK.


The Vice President Audience Development is a senior member of the Consumer Growth & Monetization responsible for understanding our audience and driving growth across our products. This person will support many functions including editorial, marketing, product, and video and serve as the expert in growing and cultivating digital audiences and achieving measurable audience or subscriber goals.


Reporting to the SVP of Consumer Growth & Monetization this is a full-time hybrid working position.


Role Responsibility

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders including Editorial, Product, Consumer Marketing, and Sales to develop and execute data-driven audience growth plans that are consistent with the brand’s global editorial mission across a variety of platforms and maximize customer monetization
  • Define a measurement and testing strategy and use analytical deep dives to identify new content opportunities for audience growth


Scope & Impact

  • Work closely with digital leadership to determine and meet growth and consumer driven KPIs and ensure that they align with editorial and commercial strategy
  • Manage overall audience development testing strategy with a focus on SEO and product optimization
  • Identify new growth opportunities and best practices based on emerging digital trends, competitive business intelligence, and consumer insight.


Relationships

  • Work with Editorial Senior leaders to support audience development efforts across BBC Studios offer and build a cohesive strategy to support global goals with a strong focus on SEO
  • Partner with the editorial team to identify new content strategy opportunities, and advise on day-to-day optimizations, such as with headlines for search and social media. Lead periodic workshops on best practices.

Professional Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in leading Audience Development with editorial, product and marketing teams
  • Experience with testing and experimentation and deep proficiency digesting and synthesizing data to turn it into actionable insights for stakeholders across the organization
