Regional Vice President of Franchise Operations

As a dynamic, rapidly growing franchise company, we are looking for a purpose-driven and dedicated talent to join our expanding Operations team. Reporting to the President & COO, the Regional Vice President of Franchise Operations will plan, direct, drive results, coordinate, and oversee franchise operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. This role will supervise, mentor, and coach an assigned group of Operations Consultants to focus on Operations Excellence, training and franchise team development, guest satisfaction, profitability, compliance, and additional business metrics.

Business Acumen

Demonstrate knowledge of SKFI Operations’ processes, procedures, and flow of information.
Understand SKFI’s budget process/Profit/Loss Management.
Understand and collaborate with the appropriate contacts within Smoothie King’s organizational structure.
Maintain positive working relationships with SKFI and their assigned regions’ franchisees.
Understands how a franchise systems work.
Understands the motivating factors of Franchisees and assists them in accomplishing their goals.
Demonstrate knowledge of metrics that measure store performance (P&L, Sales, Business Review, OSAT, Training, Turnover, etc.).
Understand budgeting, forecasting and demonstrated ability to achieve expected budget.

Conflict Management

Demonstrated track record of navigating complex situations and settling disputes equitably.
Conduct difficult conversations with Franchisees in an informed and educated manner and offer ideas on ways to improve. Identify potential conflicts with franchisees, SKFI, and team.
Prepare for potential conflicts by gathering all necessary information.
Involve additional parties when consensus or compromise cannot be met.
Demonstrated ability to remain focused on the issues and questions and keep the topic on point.

Directing Others

Coach team to capitalize on franchisees’ opportunities for improvement according to operational metrics (P&L, Sales, Business Review, OSAT, Training, Turnover, etc.).
Encourage team to communicate roadblocks.
Conduct regularly scheduled team video calls to ensure effective communication of SKFI initiatives and procedures and consistent messaging to franchisee community.
Conduct ride-along exercises with all team members to both observe and coach assigned consultants.
Conduct Performance Reviews and set annual and developmental “stretch” goals with each operations consultant.
Monitor and follow up on all operations consultants’ job responsibilities.

Integrity & Trust

Take ownership of the operations’ department’s budget process.
Is trusted and relied upon with sensitive information from both their team and SKFI.
Serve as a confidant for their franchisees and SKFI.
Demonstrate ability to stand strong to our values, standards, and expectation even in the face of conflict.
Take responsibility for their mistakes, willingly.

Managing Vision and Purpose

Create solutions and leads department, strategically, with scalability, setting precedents and the vision in mind
Craft Operations-owned documentation and processes with Smoothie King Mission and Vision, Guest Experience, Franchisee Satisfaction, Fast and convenient operations, and best practices in mind.
Further define and enhance existing operational process and procedures.
Collaborate with Training, Marketing and R&D departments to communicate operational initiatives and procedures to franchise community.
Conduct interviews and train all new operations consultants that will contribute to SKFI’s Vision and Purpose.
Articulate the purpose of operational excellence and processes in relation to SKFI’s mission and vision.
Personally, and professionally live and promote the culture, values, and mission of Smoothie King.

Priority Setting

Use resources strategically by planning schedules and budgets according to priorities.
Balance short term and long-term goals within schedule.
Analyze business metrics of franchisees to assist in setting and reaching goals.
Follow up with franchisees on agreed upon action plan and meeting milestones.

Responsibilities

Willingness to travel 50% - 60% of the time; working extended days.
Demonstrated ability and experience to consult with and influence business owners.
Advanced knowledge of business operations and consultative approaches; experience guiding leaders to make better business decisions.
Proven ability to deliver results, effectively influencing decisions through strong negotiation skills.
Ability to plan and set priorities to achieve business objectives. Outstanding accountability and focus skills.
Strong business acumen skills (financial review and assessment skills, use of competitive data, etc.).
Outstanding interpersonal skills with an emphasis on building partnerships with internal and external partners; naturally personable and friendly attitude in the face of adversity.
Self-starter with ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision or guidance.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

Undergraduate and/or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
Minimum of twelve (12) years of direct experience in a field operations-oriented leadership role within the food service industry or comparable multi-unit retail industry. Direct experience within branded franchising entity highly preferred.
Intermediate to advanced experience with P&L analysis, and inventory and operations management.
Intermediate to advanced computer experience including MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Restaurant Magic/Data Central or comparable store back-office tool is preferred.
Personal passion for fitness is a plus.
