As a dynamic, rapidly growing company, we are looking for a purpose-driven and dedicated talent to join our Human Resource team.


The Payroll & Benefits Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of payroll and benefits administration for our expanding team.


This role will oversee the bi-weekly payroll, manage the effective administration of our benefits program, and ensure compliance with Federal and State payroll legislations.


This role requires a high level of confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and a strong understanding of payroll and benefits administration.

  • Manage full-cycle, multi-state bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried team members. 
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in payroll entries, tax filings, and benefit deductions. 
  • Manage tax and compliance activities through ADP SmartCompliance. 
  • Administer team member benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. 
  • Provide guidance to team members on benefit options as well as facilitate open enrollment processes. 
  • Manage third party vendors for payroll and benefit related functions including broker liaison, leave management, and various payroll related functions (garnishments, etc.) to ensure effective communication and resolve issues. 
  • Manage all 401(k) activities from enrollments to distributions, audits, etc. Distribute plan documents and updates as needed.
  • Coordinate and conduct the new team member onboarding process to ensure team members gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
  • Serve as administrator for the payroll system. 
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance team to reconcile payroll to the general ledger and ensure accuracy of payroll funding. Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed. 
  • Facilitates audits such as 401(k) audit, Form 5500, Workers Compensation audit, and financial audits by preparing and providing documentation to auditors. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely year-end coordination and reporting (e.g., W-2, 1095’s). 
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and investigate and resolve payroll-related inquiries.
  • Implement policies and drive process improvements in alignment with business requirements.

  • Thorough knowledge of gross to net payroll and general accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of wage and hour requirements and taxation requirements.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required.
  • Highly proficient with computers and technology.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher (or commensurate experience) in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • PCP or CPM certification (preferred) with 5 years of progressive full-cycle payroll and benefits administration experience.
  • ADP WFN and payroll tax reconciliation experience required. 
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Personal passion for health and fitness is a plus.
