Area Manager

SoulCycle is seeking an Area Manager who will contribute to the company growth by expertly and efficiently managing their portfolio of studios within their designated area. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the SoulCycle culture and brand. They will be personable, efficient and a high performer in a fast-paced, dynamic, growing company environment. They will cultivate a productive working atmosphere and embody the vision of SoulCycle.


This position reports to the Regional Director, West Coast. The responsibilities and duties of this position described here are representative of those an employee must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize your experience to inspire your team to uphold SoulCycle’s hospitality standards and Core Values
  • Build and foster relationships between your Studio Managers and their Regional + HQ support partners; helping to guide their decision making and manage through change and challenging opportunities 
  • Proactively identify and address opportunities for your studios and effectively manage conflict in high pressure situations
  • Foster the SoulCycle community and culture within your region through your leadership presence
  • Provide insight and support to your studios as it relates to creating strategic, holistic business plans and measuring performance. Educate your managers to ensure they understand how to drive their businesses forward
  • Use analysis, perspective, experience, and judgment when making decisions that impact your team and their businesses 
  • Exhibit a global perspective and challenge your team to make difficult decisions when it will benefit the business
  • Keep current with knowledge of key competitors; monitor current trends in the industry and make recommendations to Senior Leadership
  • Develop proactive people plans, in partnership with your People Partner, by recruiting and building bench for your region and by actively addressing your team’s strengths and opportunities
  • Provide in the moment feedback and coaching to your team as needed; establish a meaningful cadence through which you meet with each of your directs 
  • Oversee the onboarding and training for all new Studio Managers; provide meaningful engagement and development opportunities to high performers within your market
  • Ask questions, learn, and act quickly when faced with new problems; be a champion for change
  • Coach your Studio Managers on time management and prioritization of tasks/initiatives to ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset and an ability to execute within company standards
  • Operate within a growth mindset and create new ways to add value to the changing needs of the business and your community
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Leadership and your cross-functional partners to continually re-evaluate and, as needed, update SoulCycle best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Recognize operational opportunities and implement change across operational systems and processes by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of multi-unit management experience, which includes P&L management, driving top line revenue, and ability to hire, train, and build successful teams
  • Prior management experience in restaurant, retail, hospitality or fitness is strongly preferred
  • Strong operational and communication skills in a customer-focused environment
  • Proven track record of driving behavior and results
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, and easily adapts and responds to change
  • A personal passion for fitness and/or the SoulCycle brand
