VP, Technology Partner Management

As the Technology Partner Management Leader, you’ll be accountable for development and execution of our go-forward contingent workforce and supplier strategies. You will oversee the practices and processes aligned to deploying over 2000 contingent workers across the largest technology teams. This role will establish strategic plans that enable Technology teams to optimize the relationships and performance of vendors. This involves strategic agility and ability to influence broadly across key partnerships in Technology, Procurement, HR and Risk Management. You will navigate executive level relationships to ensure a future-ready contingent workforce designed in the most cost-effective way. You are an effective communicator who can motivate teams and others; you can deliver persuasive and credible presentations at all levels of the organization. You have been successful in facilitating and driving change and alignment in a fast paced and "ever changing" environment leveraging strong interpersonal and influencing skills.Job Description


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Working with organizations in Technology, this role leads defining, implementing, and refining Technology’s current and future global supply partnership, managed capacity and staff augmentation supplier strategy including understanding market competitiveness, emerging trends, and having the ability to provide global sourcing intelligence. This role will be forefront on identifying the best ways to deploy talent in a cost effective and efficient manner while meeting critical business needs.
  • Contract Negotiations:  Partners with Procurement to structure significant deal terms, establish best practices, and help the company strengthen its large contract negotiations efforts. Continually develops subject matter expertise and remains current on competition, technology pricing trends and industry practices. Maintains an understanding of Technology vendor contracts and what each clause means operationally, including how the contractual terms and conditions relate to operational activities, including but not limited to understanding variable cost payments, low capital intensity arrangements, penalties / remedies for poor/non-performance, incentives, outcomes-based pricing, etc
  • Vendor Relationships: Provides oversight and management to all “large” contracts, by regularly reviewing contracts to ensure we are maximizing the benefits of those contracts; focus on maximizing contract ROI.  Acts as the Technology primary point of contact for relationship management and serves as the escalation point for issues with partners.  Defines and executes the approach for growing relationships with key suppliers.
  • Vendor/Contract Governance: Leads the partnership with Procurement, Information Risk Management, and Internal Audit for the on-going governance of suppliers.  Ensure appropriate vendor onboarding is completed - meeting controls and governance under contractual obligations. Ensure compliance and utilization of preferred supplier program and adherence to executed agreements including pricing, processes, and policies.
  • Manage provider performance, establish governance cadence, ensure successful delivery of products and services, and track continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensures vendor performance against expectations and standards. In addition to monitoring performance, continuously evaluate qualitative and quantitative measurements and feedback to determine vendor effectiveness.
  • Supports evaluation of the marketplace to identify innovative vendors, services, capabilities, and methodologies. Continuously evolves the vendor governance framework and methodology to ensure vendor cooperation.  Ensures Risk Assessments are up to date and in line with Business Technology Vendor Policies.  Identifies and tracks all vendor risks to ensure they are mitigated or accepted.  Ensures documented exit strategies are in place for all high-risk Business Technology Vendors.
  • Contingency Workforce Deployment: Leads the deployment of contingent workers to the P&C, NF and SDI Technology organizations.  Strategically builds relationships with Technology organization leaders to understand workforce augmentation needs and provide contingent workforce solutions.  Sets direction for creating contingent workforce management policies and practices such as performance management, day-to-day practices, and disciplinary actions.  Leads the team that is responsible for driving variable capacity management for agile teams through staff augmentation, managed capacity, and flexible associate line/team staffing.
  • Works with Procurement to identify and implement best practices for managing contracts.

Typical Skills and Experiences: 

Education:  Undergraduate studies in technology, business administration, Legal or related field. Bachelor’s and master’s degree preferred.


Experience:  Ten years of experience managing complex global technology contracts and relationships, or experience as a vendor managing customer accounts and relationships. Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking, and leadership skills with strong abilities in relationship management. Ideally looking for someone with Staffing background in recruitment, account management and/or client-side experience.


Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:  Significant knowledge of Technology vendor landscape and best practices. Including understanding financial impacts and legal issues.  Experience as a thought leader in researching and presenting innovative ways to solve complex issues, including working with Managed Service Providers to conduct root cause analysis and SLA adherence.  Proven ability to monitor new developments and industry best practices.  Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to think analytically and critically.  Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners, team and in a matrix environment.  Ability to achieve results by taking a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives.

The range for this role in Colorado is$176,250.00 - $235,000.00Nationwide pays based on a geographic-specific salary structure.


The range for this role in Ithaca, New York is$176,250.00 - $293,750.00
