VP of Sales

Sales/Head Of to join their talented, dynamic and fast-paced media sales organization. The US commercial FBH team primarily looks after key brands including Who What Wear, Marie Claire, Homes & Gardens, LivingEtc, and Real Homes.

You will report directly to the SVP of FBH. This person must thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and will manage a list of high-volume active and development accounts under the Luxury Category vertical. 

As the ideal candidate, you must take pride in developing creative and data-led solutions to meet advertiser objectives and exceed sales goals. Client relationships and relevant digital sales experience in the Women’s Fashion, Retail and Home verticals are also necessary. The ideal candidate is as passionate about our editorial brand as we are. 

What You'll be Doing...

As the VP/Head of, you will be responsible for finding ways to grow the revenue stream across various verticals within the Fashion, Beauty, and Homes portfolio of brands including Who What Wear, Marie Claire, Homes & Gardens, LivingEtc, and Real Homes. You will be a key hire to the Senior Leadership team and will work closely with the SVP of Fashion, Beauty, and Homes and SVP of Brand Solutions, as well as marketing, editorial, ad ops, tech and dev teams. You will be responsible for a variety of sales initiatives including revenue strategy and owning the delivery of revenue growth across: Digital advertising, branded content, social, events, audio, video, influencer marketing, and leading by leveraging our existing offerings and creating new ideas capable of scaling quickly into new territories to diversify revenue. 

Specifically, You Will Be Responsible for: 

Sales Management: 

  • Motivate and lead execution of Sales Strategy and manage a team of 5-7 individual contributors across verticals within Financial, Tech, Retail, Travel, and Homes endemic accounts
  • Monitor daily sales team activity including client/agency meetings, pipeline planning, account reviews, weekly estimate meetings, weekly status reports, etc..Set performance expectations and hold the team accountable for delivering results 
  • Monitor and manage to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and yearly goals
  • Day-to-day management of sellers (attended and help secure meetings, RFP’s brainstorms, media plans, campaign delivery, troubleshooting, and historical insights on accounts). Respond to and service clients, ensuring any and all issues are resolved with white glove service. 
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, creatively solve problems, think on his/her feet, and be comfortable in new situations working with multiple stakeholders 
  • Work closely with pre-sale teams to conceptualize and sell creative and data-led solutions to increase short and long-term goals with up-selling efforts 
  • Guide the behaviors of your team by developing a sales plan that clearly articulates pipeline strategy and the steps needed to execute on it 
  • Drive team’s longer-term sales with annual contracts and selling of key tentpoles (monitor pipeline activity across all large programs). 
  • A large focus will be placed on retaining, growing and building strategic new partner relationships to attain revenue goals 
  • Proactively engage, strategize and cultivate deep relationships with senior-level clients and agency members. 
  • Pricing and rate card strategy work when needed across new products 
  • Management of Affiliate Sales 
  • Train new sellers 
  • Co-lead bi-weekly sales meeting 
  • Problem-solving and working cross-functionally to Identify internal/external challenges, and opportunities, and create solutions for stronger workflows and go-to-market positioning 
  • Manage outside sales rep firms (as needed) 
  • Evaluate existing team members, and build/scale within budget parameters to drive a highly successful and productive team 
  • Ensuring the Sales Team’s Revenue Strategy is communicated and upheld across all areas of the Business including: Ad Sales, Integrated Marketing, Branded Content, Events , Influencer, Social, Edit, Technology/Development, Ad Ops

Professional Qualifications 

  • 10 years in senior commercial roles with a demonstrated track record of owning and growing commercial revenue and/or profit 
  • Wide range of sales experience including branded content, influencers, social monetization, events, partnerships, video, audio, and digital advertising 
  • A “GM” mindset - someone who can see all elements of the business and work cross-functionally to maximize the community experience and deliver financial goals - someone who has previously built creative/audience-centric businesses 
  • Track record of success in creating and executing a fully integrated marketing plan that engages audiences with a powerful consistent brand voice to increase revenue. 
  • Business-oriented marketer with a pragmatic approach to brand 
  • Experience building, scaling, and managing large teams across all functions. This team is subject to growth over the next several years. 
  • An inspirational leader who can be a talent magnet who can mentor and manage managers.

Please note, the salary range for this position is $243,000 - $250,000
