The Vice President, Marketing at Benefit Cosmetics provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for the company's marketing initiatives. They are responsible for the development and execution of go-to-market and always-on strategies, integrated campaign strategies for product launches, elevating brand visibility and driving revenue growth.


The VP, Marketing collaborates cross-functionally with regional and global HQ teams to ensure a cohesive brand message and to increase overall brand desirability. Leading a team of marketing professionals, the VP, Marketing is a critical role to the growth of the Benefit Brand.


What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Vision: Define and implement the company's strategic vision for global go-to-market and always-on strategies to build brand desirability and deliver sales.
  • Long Term Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive 3-year strategic plan for major product categories that incorporates consumer insights, rigorous analysis of performance data, broad market analysis, and local market feedback.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Spearhead initiatives that unite stakeholders worldwide through strategic collaboration, inclusive communication, and a shared sense of ownership. Drive a unified global action plan that is sensitive to individual market dynamics. Collaborate closely with creative teams to define clear briefs, review deliverables, and guarantee that all output consistently aligns with the brand's DNA and strategic objectives.
  • Regional Market Engagement: Engage closely with regional partners to comprehend unique business conditions in each territory, ensuring their needs align with global marketing strategies. Foster collaboration and facilitate the sharing of best practices within and across regions.
  • Product Launches: Oversee the formulation of product launch campaigns, guiding the identification of key tactics, the creation of supportive content, and the introduction of disruptive strategies that distinguish the brand in the marketplace.
  • Social Media: Lead development of a comprehensive global social media strategy for go-to-market and always-on campaigns, driving brand engagement, audience growth, deepen creator relationships, and optimizing content to reflect the company's values and objectives. Partner closely with Communications organization to ensure positioning on social media platforms is aligned to global storytelling and external communications strategies.
  • Paid Media: Lead development of a global paid media strategy. Regularly review regional campaigns to determine the optimal channel mix, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives, maximizing ROI, and increasing brand desirability.
  • Channel Leadership: Collaborate proactively with key channel partners, including TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, to remain at the forefront of platform innovations and maximize the brand's presence and impact within evolving digital landscapes.
  • Customer Champion: Act as a customer advocate, prioritizing and championing customer needs to deeply understanding their path to purchase as a means to create disruptive campaigns. 
  • Team Leadership: Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, development, and performance management of a team of professionals in various places in their career. Set the tone for leadership by modeling effective performance feedback, attracting and retaining talent & building effective succession plans for talent.
  • KPIs: Define and establish clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each aspect of the go-to-market, always-on, and social media platform strategy, ensuring they are measurable, directly tied to business objectives, and used to drive continuous improvement and accountability within the teams.
  • P&L Management: Develop and oversee a comprehensive P&L to ensure financial targets are met, identifying revenue streams, and executing cost-reduction strategies while maintaining operational excellence.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading diverse teams, ensuring collaboration between cross functional and global teams.
  • Strategic long-term planning capabilities, with a demonstrated history of developing and executing 3-5 year business strategies.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience in P&L management
  • Strong customer-centric mindset, evidenced by past roles in advocating for customer needs, resolving their problems, and enhancing their overall experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of paid media strategies, with an ability to assess and optimize channel mix for maximum ROI.
  • Strong grasp of social media trends and the capability to craft strategies tailored for platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Insight into the beauty influencer landscape and the nuances of effective creator collaborations.
  • Forward-thinking approach to digital innovation, especially in partnership with key social media platforms.
  • Demonstrated business leadership and stakeholder management skills, specifically in partnering with regional marketing teams to deploy impactful go to market strategies.
  • Experience in defining, establishing, and tracking KPIs, with a focus on continuous improvement and measurable program success.
  • Expertise in data analysis and market feedback, utilizing quantitative and qualitative data to inform strategic decisions and three-year plan developments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 12-15 years of Experience in Marketing, Social Media, or Customer Experience.
  • 8-10 years team leadership experience


Schedule:

Hybrid - Requires Onsite Presence Weekly


The target salary range for this position is $210,000 - $280,000. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.


This position is eligible to earn an annual bonus.
