What You’ll Do

The VP, HR Strategy & Planning provides strategic planning and internal advisory services to support the development and delivery of human resources initiatives to drive alignment and execution for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.


Reporting to the CHRO and working in close partnership with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) this role is responsible for supporting strategy and planning efforts and will work closely with the HR IMO to effectively achieve the goals of the merger or acquisition.


This role involves strategic planning, coordination, and communication with stakeholders to ensure programs support employee retention, engagement, compliance and organizational success.


This leader will work closely with HR and various stakeholder teams to embed human capital considerations in integration planning and post-close integration initiatives.


This role will be a key resource and work closely with senior leaders across the organization including Legal, Finance, and the Integration Management Office.


This role will support the CHRO and HR Leadership Team to ensure the effective management of HR deliverables, managing projects and facilitating communication between various parts of the HR team and the broader organization.


Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.


How You’ll Do It

Strategic Planning: Assist the EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer, in implementing HR strategies and initiatives. Help to develop and execute strategic HR plans that align with organizational goals. Support the development and implementation of comprehensive HR strategies in alignment with the organization’s business goals and objectives.


Integration: Review and provide feedback on the detailed project plans for HR workstreams.


Communication: Provide feedback on the development and execution of communication plans for employees, addressing concerns and maintaining morale throughout the transition. Working closely with HR Communications, support the communication of changes effectively to employees and other stakeholders.


Compliance: Ensure programs this leader has oversight of complies with relevant laws and regulations. Stay updated on changes in legislation. Help to identify and mitigate risks associated with employee transitions.


Stakeholder Relations: Partner with members of the HR, legal, finance, and operational teams to ensure alignment and compliance with regulatory requirements.


Post-Transaction Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HR integration efforts, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement. Conduct post-mortem analyses of M&A transactions to identify lessons learned and best practices for future transactions.


Qualifications You’ll Need

The Basics


Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration Management or Related


Work Experience

  • 15+ years of HR experience in Financial Services, Consulting, or similar experience.
  • Demonstrated M&A experience, including complex, cross functional program management and deep experience and expertise in compensation, benefits, and organizational development.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior executives, external partners, and employees.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage complex, multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and people skills.
