VP Finance

Atlanta, GA

The Vice President of Finance for the Americas (“AMS”) is the finance leader for a region that oversees business in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America with annual revenue over $700 million dollars and heavy manufacturing in the United States. Certain products are also sourced from Europe and Asia. The business serves customers throughout the Americas via direct and indirect selling channels.


The VP of Finance is a key leader on the Americas’ Executive Leadership Team, responsible for the leadership, direction, and management of the Americas’ finance team. The VP of Finance oversees forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, cost accounting, and business/operational/commercial support for the entire region. The role is responsible for managing the entire annual operation plan (“AOP”) process for AMS, plus regular financial support to AMS’ commercial and operational organizations. The VP of Finance reports to Interface’s Chief Financial Officer and Interface’s President of the Americas. This role is a key strategic business partner to the entire AMS team, including Commercial Leadership (Heads of the Region’s Sales, Services, FLOR, Global Accounts), Head of Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Head of Product & Marketing, Head of Human Resources, and the rest of the team requiring strong cross functional support across the business.


Key responsibilities of the Vice President of Finance include:

  • Provide executive leadership in the continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives and offer recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Strong “tactical orientation” to support the business on its immediate financial objectives including pricing analysis, compensation plan designs, area structures, cost management, developing and reporting metrics that drive accountability, working capital management, and other operational decision-making support.
  • Responsible for timely, accurate and consistent reporting of financial information, including monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and annual strategic plans.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Accounting Officer (“CAO”) to ensure the business’ books and records are reported timely, accurately, and above reproach.
  • Oversee and compile variance analysis explanations of Actual results vs. Forecast, Budget, and Prior Year.
  • Review SEC-related segment reporting and disclosures to ensure proper segment reporting/disclosure compliance in external/SEC related reporting.
  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to AMS’ President and Executive Leadership Team and make recommendations on strategy and operations.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all AMS finance team members throughout the Americas.
  • Actively participate in AMS Leadership Team meetings; provide updates related to the business’ financials and key operating metrics including KPI’s crucial to running the business effectively.
  • Responsible for preparing the AOP and 5-year business plan.
  • Ensure accounting and other company policies are followed vigilantly across the business.
  • Oversee the cost accounting function, including related support to manufacturing, and support to accounting to ensure accurate costing of AMS’ manufacturing environment and accurate books and records related to manufacturing costs and inventory balances.
  • Partner closely with AMS’ President, Vice President of Sales, Vice President of Manufacturing and other members of the team to provide a plethora of analysis, compensation design support, “what-if” analysis, financial modeling, support for product & marketing, and all related financial support that the business needs.
  • Partner closely with the CAO to work with Internal Audit and outside auditors to provide the information and support needed by the company’s auditors.
  • Partner closely with other corporate functions (e.g., Corporate Tax, Corporate Treasury) to insure smooth financial processes across the enterprise.
  • Oversee the region’s risk management including establishing and improving internal controls and procedures.
  • Leverage technology, and lead through a continuous improvement mindset, to make things better every day.
  • Implement system improvements as needed and required to improve AMS’ infrastructure. Support and lead the development of business intelligence metrics and tools.
  • Support and help manage the business’ capital budget, working capital, and cashflow objectives.
  • Partner with the global finance team to leverage the power of “one team” across the enterprise, through standardization, simplification, and automation.
  • Evaluate strategic growth opportunities through expansion and/or M&A.


Professional Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least 15 years of professional experience in finance and accounting/controllership roles with strong preference toward environments that include manufacturing.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and experience required.
  • Ability and proven track record of collaborating cross-functionally with sales, marketing, manufacturing, IT, human resources, legal etc. to deliver results in a positive way.
  • Proven track record of developing, prioritizing, and implementing operational improvements to increase revenue, decrease costs, improve cash flow, and drive operational efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Expert level Excel skills, and strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge and experience working with large ERP systems - JDEdwards highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to design organization, select great talent and develop a strong team.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and business minded with a strong servant leader and team player orientation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail with a passion to win and positively influence company culture.


Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA and/or CPA highly preferred
