VP Construction Project Management Sr. Director

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Vice President to join the Dallas, TX office.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Complete accountability and direction for entire project, from pre-construction phase to completion and is the primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
  • Accountable for all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Overall responsibility and management of project including but not limited to pre-construction budgeting/schedule stage, procurement, through contract closeout.
  • Position has primary fiscal responsibility and key liaison between client for assigned project.

General Role Description

The Vice President is responsible for leading in a team environment to differentiate the business unit from the competition and build a growing base of business by discovering, developing and pursuing new business opportunities and relationships with the construction industry in the Dallas and Fort Worth market while maintaining active operational oversight on awarded projects. In addition, this position will have a significant external leadership role in the business community. The Vice President will sit on the Leadership team and participate in strategic planning, innovation and the overall direction of the business unit.


This position reports to the Senior Vice President and has direct supervisory responsibilities of the Project Executives & Project Directors.


High Level Key Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with Senior Vice President and/or Executive Vice President, develop and implement objectives and strategies in support of overall company business development goals in the assigned segment.
  • Lead efforts to research and determine qualified target areas, projects, and clients.
  • Establish and maintain an external presence in the marketplace.
  • Prepare and execute business development action plans for specific targets.
  • Lead development of proposals, presentations and brochure materials. Train and assist project team in making effective presentations.
  • Meet Client's needs prior to contract execution and through project completion. Provide advice and counsel; act as liaison, provide planning, etc. to prospective and current clients.
  • Work with Senior Vice President and Legal to negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions.
  • Provide Executive responsibility and leadership over active projects and operations.
  • Drive the culture on the foundation of the Company core values
  • Ensure strict adherence to all ethics and compliance requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Identify qualified opportunities through the development of strategic relationships with architects, Engineers, developers, and owners.
  • Provide thought-leadership in the defined sector and region while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in these areas.
  • Critically apply market and business sectors knowledge toward the formation of pre-qualified opportunity and client lists.
  • Maintain senior level network of clients to build relationships and brand to drive expansion in the Dallas Fort Worth market.
  • Lead the company’s response to requests for proposals and bid opportunities once qualified opportunities have been identified.
  • Support preparation of document package with the Marketing Team and project team for the interview phase.
  • Responsible and accountable for project execution performance including safety, financial, schedule, quality and managing client expectations through established project performance reviews and approval processes.
  • Actively participate in the development and execution of company long-term strategic plans
  • Translate corporate strategy into a comprehensive business development and capture plan for Dallas Fort Worth Texas.
  • Provide clear communication and analyze data to client and team to achieve project goals
  • Represent AECOM Hunt at relevant industry events and speaking engagements while maintaining excellent public speaking and presentation skills in client facing and high-pressure situations


Minimum Requirements

BA/BS in Construction Management or Engineering or related field + EXTENSIVE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 6 years of leadership


Preferred Qualifications

  • 18-20 years construction management experience
  • DFW market experience with established business relationships
  • Large commercial construction project experience
