Are you an experienced leader in the SaaS payments space with a successful track record growing revenue and adoption of commerce products? Have you changed the landscape of your industry and are you excited to do it again? We’re looking for a VP, Commerce to join us at Thinkific.

As the VP, Commerce at Thinkific you will lead our Commerce strategy and team to scale Thinkific Commerce through the development and adoption of payment products that Creators use to sell and scale their businesses. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll play a critical role in advising the Senior Leadership Team on Commerce strategy, initiatives, and results.

Your goal will be to attract Thinkific monetizing customers onto TCommerce and effectively increase Gross Merchandize Value (GMV) and the Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) with Thinkific Commerce tools. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:

  • Own Thinkific’s Commerce strategy, in alignment with the executive team, including payment operations, risk (fraud operations) and business development
  • Lead Thinkific to release and gain large-scale adoption of products and programs that accelerate revenue growth for customers using Thinkific
  • Lead the definition of target outcomes with Research and Development leaders to gain adoption for effective selling and administration tools
  • Create and execute a go-to-market strategy and lead outreach to attract top selling Creators to become customers of Thinkific Commerce
  • Develop and execute business development and partnership strategies to help Creators sell via new channels
  • Develop a relationship with Stripe that allows Thinkific to bring impactful products to market faster than our competitors by aligning our product plans with Stripe’s roadmap
  • Manage other impactful partnerships to drive efficient Commerce revenue growth
  • Work with go-to-market teams to achieve mass adoption of Thinkific Payments and commerce products

The person we have in mind likely:

  • Has set up a payments business unit that has grown and reached revenue goals
  • Has managed a fraud division in Payments, and has a strong familiarity with the risk profile of payments
  • Has 7+ years of experience within SaaS companies and is known as a trusted leader and advisor
  • Can effectively prioritize revenue growth while also understanding risk
  • Possess strong knowledge of how to build on Stripe and the ability to maintain meaningful relationships with Stripe
  • Has a successful track record of building payments at a large stage and led process-driven teams
  • Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business

These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:

  • Experience working in the Creator Educator space
  • Experience in product and sales roles

The recruitment compensation range for this position is $227,000 - 282,000 CAD + Variable
