VP, Agency Digital Experience

The Agency Data Analytics Team is seeking an experienced, strong, detail-oriented Analytical Leader to own the development of end to end data solutions for new projects (starting with requirements management process to deployment), system enhancements and testing changes that are required by the business units. The candidate will work closely with the business subject matter experts and development teams to make decisions impacting the use of data for driving results in the business going forward. The Data Analytics Team is responsible for developing the Dashboard 2.0 platform which is used by Agents, Field Managers, Home Office and Zone Management teams to track progress towards Agency business objectives.

 

Major Responsibilities :

  • Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations. Connect people data to business performance data to generate and uncover relevant, actionable insights and make strategic and tactical recommendations. Analyze and interpret business and user requirements into functional requirements (that are: complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable) and specifications that have an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by the development teams.
  • Strategy: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Exercise decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Leverage your business skills to connect data insights to understand and solve business challenges.
  • Solution design and ownership: Leverage emerging technologies to prepare and deliver insights in a scalable way for the Agency distribution system including the recruiting process, agent contracting and the policy life cycle. Manage changes to final requirements through change control process and write specifications for bugs and enhancements.
  • Execution: Support user acceptance testing and defect management.
  • Strong communication skills: Understands the business goals and can straddle the discussion between business and data. Provide production support for Agents, Field Managers and Home Office employees by answering inquires, researching specific cases and reconciling numbers to other reporting systems. Prepare training materials for end users and communications to the Field and Home Office.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business/Computer Science/IT or related field is preferred)
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience, including
  •  7+ years of experience financial service industry (Life insurance products and business knowledge preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience with translating business requirements into system requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with more than one reporting and business intelligence tool (Tableau, Spotfire, Domo, PowerBI, Qlik,etc.)
  • Expert in sql and deep understanding of relational data bases to be able to create insights from large data sets.
  • Ability to blend data from various data sources to produce actionable information.
  • Strong data visualizations skills for "Story-telling" through data.
