VP, Acquisitions Capabilities

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP of Acquisitions Marketing Capabilities will work closely with portfolio marketing leaders and other subject matter experts to drive acquisition product innovation to fit the needs of our clients & partners across all platforms. This will include designing new feature concepts, developing cost / benefit analyses to justify any investments, and championing projects through the complete development cycle.


This position is currently remote, where you’ll be work from home, but may be required to work in one of our offices in the future or occasionally commute to one our offices for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with Marketing Innovation, Networks, and Marketing teams to adapt existing capabilities to fit product segments.
  • Work with marketing leaders and COE subject matter experts to develop a long term feature roadmap.
  • Develop business cases and champion strategies to support product innovation.
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop business requirements, estimate, size, and schedule projects that create or enhance capabilities for Synchrony Financial 
  • Develop business intelligence to document the results of new products and feature introductions.
  • Design and implement tests to identify opportunities for product enhancements. 
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 9 years of professional work experience in the financial services field
  • Minimum of 5 years' project management experience leading cross functional projects
  • 3 years product management experience with acquisitions products (Prescreen, ITA, Prequalification)
  • 3+ years product management experience working within Agile framework
  • 2+ years' experience leading the development of business requirements
  • 2+ years' experience leading user acceptance testing across multiple functions
  • Ability to travel (~20% )


Desired Characteristics:

  • Master's degree (Business or applicable related field)
  • Master Black Belt, Black Belt or Lean Six Sigma certification 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: business writing, developing pitches, delivering presentations, and leading meetings.
  • Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic thinking with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results.
  • Strong problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate situations using multiple sources of information.
  • Proven ability to work remotely and independently 


Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 – 170,000.00 USD Annual


Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
