Visual Designer

We’re looking for a passionate, exceptional, Visual Designer with a passion for making beautifully crafted interactive experiences to join our Design Systems team. You must have strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, as well as a portfolio that demonstrates a focus on designing visual systems for mobile products.

Requirements

2+ years experience shipping iOS and/or Android products, ideally in a consumer-facing environment
Portfolio that demonstrates your ability to define, develop and execute visual design systems for consumer products, at scale
Expert in typography, color, composition, texture, and visual design
A great eye and passion for visual design, a deeply knowledgeable advocate for modern approaches to visual and interactive design
Exceptional communicator and collaborator, comfortable with critique and co-authorship
Highly proficient in standard design and communication tools: Figma, Sketch, Google Apps, MS Office, etc.
Experience prototyping: Principal, Framer, etc.

Fitbit's design organization is dedicated to envisioning and crafting products and experiences that are the most intelligent, beautiful and engaging way for people to succeed in their health and fitness journeys. We are reinventing the way we engage with our users across device and software experiences.

As a Visual Designer on the Design Systems team, you will play a critical role in developing the visual language for our iOS and Android experiences. You will bring a critical eye to design and have great attention to detail creating a visual system that enhances the user experience.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with Design, Brand, Product and Engineering leadership to shape the overall vision and strategy of our design system
Collaborate closely with Product Design and Brand Design teams to create delightful, consistent and user validated experience across iOS and Android mobile
Consistently elevate the quality of the design by soliciting feedback from peers and stakeholders through formal design reviews, presentations, and by facilitating design thinking workshops
Document definitions, usage, rules and rationale for each mobile component and template, considering all relevant accessibility and UI states
Be an advocate for and provide guidance and governance for the design system across our mobile product design teams
Collaborate with mobile developers on the building and implementation of system components
