Vice President, Total Rewards

As the VICE PRESIDENT OF TOTAL REWARDS you will serve as the People & Culture leader responsible for the strategy, design, and development of our Total Rewards programs. This encompasses all compensation including: base salary, equity-based programs, variable pay, bonuses, promotions and more. Additionally, you will define, lead and implement a creative benefits program that supports our diverse employee base in the U.S. and U.K. You will act as a true partner for internal stakeholders while keeping a close pulse on the external market. As the VP of Total Rewards, you will lead your team members and business leaders to develop, recommend and ensure successful implementation of our comprehensive total rewards strategies. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will help us navigate nuances while effectively communicating and promoting our total rewards programs at all levels at the Company. This next leader will ensure a high level of analytical rigor, forward thinking and strategic total rewards evolution as Stitch Fix continues to expand.


The VP of Total Rewards will lead a team of Compensation and Benefits professionals, report to the Chief People & Culture Officer and partner directly with senior leadership including the CEO, C-Suite, and Board of Directors. This role will be based in our Headquarters in San Francisco, CA.

  • Lead all compensation processes for U.S. and U.K. employees (base and variable pay, pay for performance, promotions, equity, etc.) 
  • Design and continuously optimize compensation and benefit initiatives that are aligned to Stitch Fix’s culture [our “OS”], and provide flexibility and local customization to account for market differences 
  • Benchmark activities across all areas of rewards to elevate our understanding of current and emerging market trends and our compensation competitiveness, and identify how we evolve over time to meet the changing landscape of total rewards 
  • Make recommendations and provide leadership for internal and external offers to attract and retain highly sought-after talent, including executives, leveraging best in class compensation and benefits systems, tools and processes 
  • Partner with Recruitment, Finance, HR, and Leadership to advise on needs related to compensation and benefits 
  • Lead strategy discussions collaborating with the Compensation Committee, the Board of Directors and the Board’s Compensation Consultant to design, update, communicate and disclose Company compensation plans. 
  • Work with the Legal and Finance team to strategically evaluate and optimize total rewards programs based on data-driven insights 
  • Provide subject matter expertise and accurately interpret, counsel, communicate, and educate HR Business Partners, managers and executives on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretations, and job evaluations
  • Develop a comprehensive, effective communications strategy to share compensation and benefits information to internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Provide visionary leadership to coach and develop a high performing total rewards team 


WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE... 

  • 15+ years demonstrated experience in total rewards, compensation, and benefits or in closely related fields like Finance or Data Science
  • Demonstrated compensation experience at a publicly-traded company in the following areas: executive compensation, base salary, market pricing, variable pay and performance management, job evaluation, compliance, data analysis, research and cost modeling
  • Experience with a variety of types of compensation and diverse compensation structures
  • In-depth knowledge of current compensation and benefits trends, practices and regulations
  • Benefits experience including knowledge of health and welfare plans, Leaves of Absence, time off practices and retirement plans
  • A consistent track record of identifying complex challenges and using analytical skills to drive appropriate solutions
  • Strong consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem solving skillsets
  • A data-driven approach with a strong ability to analyze and transform raw data into insights and action plans aligned with company goals
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) to effectively articulate and promote total rewards programs to multiple audiences, with specific experience influencing senior leaders
  • Experience with Workday (or similar HRM software)
  • Strong expertise in quantitative analysis in Excel

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for an annual bonus, and new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units, depending on employee and company performance. Salary Range

$350,000—$350,000 USD
