Vice President, Revenue Operations & Data

New York, NY

The Washington Post is looking for an experienced Vice President of Revenue Operations & Data to drive revenue growth and operational excellence across multiple advertising sales and marketing teams. You will develop data-driven solutions for complex business challenges by leading an innovative revenue operations team consisting of audience insights, data and programmatic, sales operations and revenue analytics.


Leveraging your expertise and strategic vision, and in collaboration with Client Solutions’ senior management team, you will lead and guide the development of new products, processes, standards, and operational plans across revenue generating activities in alignment with Client Solutions’ vision and revenue strategy. This position is based in our New York City office.

Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with CAO, shape the direction of short-and mid-term revenue-generating initiatives by monitoring industry trends, identifying business issues, and developing mitigation plans.
  • Develop and implement strategies to gather, analyze, validate and interpret data to inform business decisions and drive strategic initiatives. Provide strategic recommendations to enhance revenue operations and drive business growth. Integrate data analytics into sales operations processes by collaborating with Product, Marketing, Sales and Client Success teams.
  • Oversee the analysis of revenue data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for revenue growth. In collaboration with Finance, lead sales forecasting, determine staffing needs, and manage headcount and compensation budget.
  • Drive sales process optimization by identifying bottlenecks, implementing best practices, and providing training and support to sales teams.
  • Assess the effectiveness of sales performance optimization and revenue growth initiatives by establishing and monitoring key performance metrics, including forecasting, funnel analysis and pipeline management.
  • Maximize programmatic revenue by overseeing the Commercial tech stack roadmap, developing strategic partnerships, and implementing ongoing optimization efforts.
  • Support executive decision making by assisting with Executive QBRs and the strategic planning process.
  • Represent Client Solutions in company-wide efforts to generate more revenue, meet or exceed contribution targets, and improve customer retention by collaborating with internal partners and cross-functional teams.
  • Continuously improve team’s operating model by monitoring industry trends and adopting best practices.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 15 years of sales and sales operations experience in the media, technology and/or marketing space or equivalent experience and education.
  • At least 7 years of experience managing medium-size teams (20-25 people) in a sales organization.
  • Deep knowledge of best practices and expertise in sales operations, revenue analytics, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Strong project management skills and proven track record of implementing new products, processes, and standards that had a significant operational, financial, and workforce impact on the sales organization.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with sales executives and developing and executing short- and mid-term operational plans that are aligned with business goals and revenue strategy.
  • Proficiency in collecting and leveraging customer, market, and competitive intelligence to inform and drive business performance.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate across all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the company's vision and revenue strategy across all relevant functions.
  • Knowledge of relevant sales and marketing tools (e.g. Clari, Tableau, Salesforce) and experience with tools selection, evaluation and implementation.

The Washington Post includes salary ranges for certain positions to comply with local pay transparency laws.


The salary range for this position is: 198,200.00 - 368,000.00 USD AnnualThe actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.


This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
