Vice President, Retail Development

New York, NY

The Dior Vice President of Retail Development is responsible for overseeing the Education and Retail Development functions for North America. This role will lead the development and implementation of the omnichannel client experience and journey, from acquisition to loyalty and retention. The VP of Retail Development will develop and lead a robust North America corporate and field team to instill brand values, savoir fare, and expertise along with Dior’s luxury standards throughout the North American retail teams, from in-store to online.


As part of the Senior Leadership Team, this role oversees initiatives that elevate the omni client experience from daily business to eventing, VIP engagement in partnership with critical cross-functional partners in service of strengthening client engagement, CRM metrics, brand equity, and sales performance with a focus on productivity. They drive best in class education, training programs, and protocols from Brand DNA and fundamentals to category and product level knowledge across Fragrance, Skincare, and Makeup categories.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Retail Excellence:

  • Develop and execute core strategies to drive daily business acceleration, productivity, and excellence in luxury clienteling.
  • Focus on CRM and leveraging data to drive client centric strategies and long term omnichannel value.
  • Monitor and track all KPIs at the brand level and by account in partnership with cross-functional partners, having a core focus on luxury service, client centric experiences, and clienteling practices.
  • Lead the roadmap planning of the North America retail excellence strategy annually, seasonally, and quarterly.
  • Drive development and monitoring of productivity goals, with accountability alongside the Retail and Field teams to drive results.
  • Partner with VM, Marketing, Account Teams, and Paris Headquarters teams to ensure brand image standards are flawlessly executed, from counter and shop presentation to individual grooming, standards, and execution of the selling ceremony.


Education:

  • Create and implement training formats, tools, and procedures for Dior Field and Retailer based talent including direct Dior.com and .ca teams, multi-brand retailer selling and e-commerce teams, and inter-sell associates in department stores to drive brand and product expertise, elevate the client experience, and to ensure that the Brand achieves its performance goals. This encompasses classroom-style training, digital content to be distributed on multiple platforms, retailer-specific training, self-study guides, in-store coaching, and brand tutorial content.
  • Partner with Headquarters Education team on development of all service and selling standards to design and deliver omni client interaction through best-in-class training protocols and curriculum.
  • Partner with NA Marketing to ensure consistency of product positioning, key consumer claims and usage to maximize consumer engagement.
  • Design and Deliver Dior Ambassador onboarding, development, and retention programs for in store and field leadership teams.
  • Manage all aspects of the Client Experience Assessment Program for North America, and drive follow up as it relates to strategy, training evolution, and execution plans to address core opportunities.
  • Partner with Key account teams to build and adapt training programs based on account specific nuances and overall strategy.


PROFILE

  • 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing sales training function in Prestige Beauty/Fragrance Experience leading a large (locally and remote) team of 5+ direct reports. • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • Great organizational skills
  • Team player and self-starter with the ability to navigate and negotiate effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Approximately 50% travel throughout North America and some international

Principial Duties and Responsibilities (Continued)

Retail Sales Events:

  • Develop and execute strategies including production, planning, and training for Brand & Retailer omni events and animations. (e.g., in store retail events, pop-up activations, social media takeovers, masterclasses, and visual distortions)
  • Partner closely with the Headquarters teams based in Paris and the North America cross-functional teams to ensure that all animation and training materials support brand strategies. • Set seasonal strategies to drive client engagement and retail performance across all categories of business.
  • Partner with teams in Headquarters to create visual assets, lead local customization of support materials and visual animations, and partner with Commercial Leadership team on sales plans and targets.
  • Drive event sales, clienteling, and image goals alongside Retail and Field teams, and actively track including accountability for results. Provide post-event ROI analysis and recaps, and competitive event audits 4x per year.


Digital Evolution:

  • Lead digital innovation for the Retail Development team and strategy, including ongoing evaluation of platforms and tools to widen and deepen engagement, talent, first- and third-party data integration, and partnership with key retail partners on related strategies and acceleration planning.
  • Implement next stage of digital integration and evolution of omnichannel approach to retail development.
  • Lead partnership with PR & Marketing to drive Social Media integration where applicable, from talent for key animations and initiatives to guidelines for social media content and behavior across Retail teams.
  • Partner with Retail teams, Field, and LVMH tech teams to drive training for new tools in-market to ensure adoption and success.


Operations/Tech:

  • Partner with Beauty Tech, Operations and Distribution Center Leads, and other key cross-functional partners to continually improve processes and create efficiencies for the Commercial Team.
  • Responsible for P&L strategy at a departmental level: actively managing budgets, forecasting inputs, and key investments, in addition to communicating monthly updates to Finance, Commercial Lead, and North America COMEX Team.


People Management:

  • Active management and development of Retail Development team members, including developing independent and empowered leaders and an environment of ownership and accountability.
  • Consistently provide market, trend, and competitive analysis within the Retail Development scope • All other job-related activities, and flexibility to adapt as the Brand strategy evolves in a dynamic market.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources in talent management, performance management, and strategic organization design.

While the published salary range is a good faith reflection of the targeted salary level for the position, LVMH Inc. reserves the right to pay outside of the published salary range of $235-$290k.
