Vice President, Quant Research

Summary of Duties: Design, develop, and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured and diverse data sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client needs and product enhancements. Interact with stakeholder teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis. Research opportunities for new uses of existing data and develop processes for data modeling, mining, and production. Work with different datasets and runs algorithms on large size data effectively and efficiently, staying up to date with all the latest cutting-edge technologies.

       

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, or a related field, and four (4) years as an Associate, Quant Research; Analyst, Quant Research; or related role. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, or a related field, and six (6) years as an Associate, Quant Research; Analyst, Quant Research; or related role. Four (4) years of experience required with: utilizing Python to conduct data analysis and quantitative research to identify macro and microeconomic trends and produce return forecasts for various asset classes; utilizing advanced data science techniques, including natural language processing or machine learning, to conduct quantitative research used in formulating return forecasts across various asset classes and investment related topics; working with large and unstructured datasets to produce actionable insights that can be used by the investment team to make data-driven investment recommendations and decisions; utilizing financial engineering techniques to conduct quantitative research; and researching and producing investment signals based on financial data and utilizing multi-factor risk models and optimization techniques. If qualifying with a Bachelor’s degree, must have six (6) years with the aforementioned skills.


The salary range for this position is $166,500 – $205,000 per year. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department, and individual performance.
