This role is remote in the East Coast Time Zone. 


What you will do:

Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, the VP of Project Management Office (PMO) will be responsible for charting the course to establish and lead a centralized PMO, enhancing our company's project delivery capabilities. As the foremost expert in the company on Project Management, the VP of PMO will coordinate and oversee project planning, resource allocation, and performance tracking. They will also develop and implement project management standards, policies, and best practices to ensure consistent and efficient execution of both internal strategic initiatives and client-facing projects across the organization. This role will be expected to drive cross-functional collaboration and lead special projects sponsored by the C-suite, with a focus on enhancing organizational efficiency and achieving business objectives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership and communication skills, enabling them to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.

  • Build, lead, and nurture a high-performing, cohesive team of project managers, fostering a collaborative environment that emphasizes partnership with stakeholders throughout all project phases, from initial conception and strategic planning to successful execution and continuous improvement for both internal and client-facing projects.
  • Provide leadership, coordination, strategic direction, and management of all PMO associated resources and functions, including resource planning, allocation, and utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Establish best practices, processes, systems, and policies (including supporting SOPs, SLAs, KPIs) to ensure consistent execution and management of all projects while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage, coach, and mentor PMO team members at various levels, overseeing recruitment, selection, skills and competency assessment, performance management, certification, training, and career planning to build a best-in-class project management function.
  • Define the PMO's framework, standards, tools, methodologies, and playbooks for end-to-end project planning and management lifecycle, covering Scope, Schedule, Budget, Risks, Resources, Stakeholders, Communication, Quality, Procurement, and Change.
  • Build strong relationships with the PMO's clients and stakeholders to foster cooperation, coordination, collaboration, and communication across the organization, driving cross-functional alignment and ensuring projects meet business objectives.
  • Monitor PMO's day-to-day operations, progress, and performance, managing internal and client escalations and ensuring overall success across all predetermined KPIs.
  • Create accurate statements of work (SOWs), plan costs, budgets, and resources needed for projects, and continually reassess resource requirements to optimize efficiency and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, learning, and collaboration within the PMO, driving continuous process improvement and resource management best practices to enhance organizational efficiency and project delivery capabilities.


Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field is required; a Master's degree in a relevant discipline is highly preferred
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, CSP-SM (or similar project management certifications) are required
  • 10+ years of hands-on project management experience with expertise in waterfall and agile methodologies, with at least 3 years of experience specifically within digital, creative, media, or advertising agencies
  • 5+ years of proven experience in leading and cultivating a high-performing PMO team, overseeing at least 15 direct reports
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience with project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Wrike, Workfront, Asana, JIRA, Trello, Monday, Basecamp, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience with process mapping / workflow design tools (e.g. Visio, LucidChart, Miro, Gliffy, Mural, etc.)
