Vice President of Supplier Management

The Vice President of Supplier Management will play a pivotal role in creating, overseeing and optimizing the procurement and supply chain functions for the League. This executive will lead a team responsible for developing and executing strategies to manage supplier relationships, ensure cost-effective sourcing, and drive operational efficiency.


The VP will collaborate with key stakeholders across the league, including team executives, facility managers, and marketing departments, to align supplier management strategies with the league’s overall business objectives


Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive supplier management strategy aligned with the league’s goals and objectives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier performance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the supplier management team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring alignment with the league’s needs and expectations.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, optimizing cost and value.
  • Address and resolve supplier performance issues, working collaboratively to find solutions and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Procurement Strategy and Execution:
  • Oversee the development and execution of procurement strategies for various categories of goods and services, including equipment, merchandise, and facility services.
  • Implement and manage procurement processes, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain improvements.
  • Budget and Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the supplier management budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost control.
  • Analyze financial data related to procurement and supplier performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including supply disruptions, financial stability of suppliers, and compliance issues.
  • Develop contingency plans and strategies to ensure supply chain resilience and continuity.
  • Team Development:
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the supplier management team.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure team members are equipped to meet their objectives and grow professionally.
  • Innovation and Improvement:
  • Drive innovation in procurement processes and supplier management practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Implement best practices and new technologies to stay ahead of industry trends and maintain a competitive edge.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in procurement, supplier management, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and supply chain management systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of supplier management practices and industry trends.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights.


Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or equivalent are desirable.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. This position is FLSA non-exempt and may require overtime as needed.
  • This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.


Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.


Salary: $215,000 - $275,000 USD
