Vice President of Site Operations

As the Head of US Operations, you will have a proven track record of setting a compelling strategy, stewarding the adoption of this vision across all levels for the organization, and driving the performance and execution across our global, multi-unit operation.


You are excited by maintaining a high level of service, delivering on our unique hospitality mission through precise performance metrics and instilling excellence in all operational aspects of our sites. This operational leader also loves and understands how to drive a best in class experience that combines process improvement, change management, revenue management and an analytical approach to solving the daily opportunities that improve unit performance.

Lastly, this leader believes that anything is possible and has a track record of studying, innovating and adapting to manage a growing operation to develop the processes that uphold the best in class operations to existing museums and to efficiently open future locations.  


This position is based in a city with a museum: Chicago, NYC, Austin, Miami, or LA and requires intense travel across locations and new museum openings in 2024.


Your Day-to-Day:

  • Lead all current operations including hospitality, facilities and F&B
  • Build and develop a management team to exponentially grow units globally over the next 18 - 24 months
  • Must be able to travel extensively to lead current operations teams and open new units. New unit operations require nearly extensive travel 6-8 weeks for the initial slate of openings of museums, 1x per month for each location during 12 month ramp up 
  • Oversee the overall guest experience in all locations, including the experiential technology
  • Be a visionary in your data-driven approach to management, defining KP's for all locations and providing location GM's with the tools they need to achieve success
  • Reorganize and build central operations team to manage growth of units
  • Manage and recruit teams of GMs and AGMs responsible for over 100 employees in cities across the globe
  • Implement operational excellence standards across all aspects of our locations, including but not limited to handbooks and tracking systems for construction, opening and ongoing operational guides, etc.
  • Manage all cross-location vendors and contractors, evaluating performance on an ongoing basis and making changes as needed.
  • Ensuring training and quality control standards are put in place across all team members in all locations.
  • Ensure all operations, vendors, contractors, building and city relations are managed and maintained in all locations.
  • Maintain operational best practices, creating guidebooks and handbooks for all new locations.
  • Liaise with the founding team and with the executive team on operations, visitor experience and team culture across all locations.
  • Manage P&L across each city and department.
  • Ensure culture, reputation and brand of MOIC is actively cultivated in every location.

  • The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 USD based on location and experience.

Requirements

The Necessities and Nice-to-Haves:

  • You have 10+ years of leadership and operations experience 
  • You have scaled an operation to at least 10 multinational units
  • Extensive experience managing locations with complicated technical and f&B operations
  • Servant leadership and willing to get your hands dirty in order to get the job done and set an example for your team by being on the ground and learning every position from line to GM
  • You have extensive experience managing multiple locations and have developed detailed processes and implemented structure to aid in your management
  • You have exceptional organization skills with obsessive attention to detail
  • You are a problem-solver, and an excellent communicator
  • You have experience dealing with centralizing supply chains, vendors and service providers 
  • You are able to make quick decisions and you possess excellent conflict resolution skills
  • You have a strong ability to negotiate with vendors, manage budgets and keep to strict timelines
  • You have the ability to travel to each new location as we build out operations in the near term and to oversee a team in the future to open units in 2025 and beyond
