Vice President of Product
THE ROLE
As our Vice President of Product, you will be accountable for setting the direction of the Product and User Experience teams as well as actively taking part in day-to-day product management. Delivering more as our Vice President of Product means you’ll take the priorities of the business and the needs of our users to plan and deliver a vision and roadmap that will support company growth.
To do all this, we believe that a great Product person is a clarifier. You will need to take complexity and distill what really matters. You are focused and comfortable making choices on how to cut scope and not quality; constantly trying to find creative (and sometimes risky) solutions to seemingly unfathomable problems.
In this role, you’ll manage through change and maintain alignment by communicating fundamental roles, goals, and expectations to your team and providing real-time feedback. As a people-leader at Dispatch, you’ll help build high-performing teams by being involved at a strategic level and acting with a sense of responsibility, compassion, integrity, and forgiveness.
This is a full-time exempt role that reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

Partners closely with the Vice President of Engineering to ensure we have the right amount of resources and talent needed to realize the set product vision and roadmap priorities
Shares the Product vision, roles, goals, expectations, strategies, and priorities within the Product and User Experience teams to ensure everyone understands our product suite and our customers, and creates an environment where the team is able to work autonomously to deliver value
Determines and manages department KPIs that align with an organizational scorecard
Manage the financial performance of the Product teams, including evaluating current team capabilities, planning, budgeting, and contractual and human resources requirements
Pioneers the creation and delivery, and manages milestones of, the product portfolio and roadmap to delight customers, increase revenue, and drive engagement with our network of independent contractors
Sets a high product standard while resolving trade-offs between speed, quality, and scope
Continuously improves upon and communicates product processes cross-functionally to optimize deliveries while learning from customers and users and informing what we need to do to the product
Constantly questions and tests assumptions using qualitative feedback, quantitative A/B tests, and KPIs; then iterates and improves on what has been shipped
Partners closely with each area of the business to prioritize the backlog, make tradeoffs in product scope, and update timelines

The ability to determine what to build and what not to build, bringing focus and steadiness to teams
A successful track record of building, managing, and scaling enterprise software products while leveraging agile methodologies
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
10+ years Product Management experience (Required)
5+ years experience successfully leading a Product and/or User Experience team(s) (Required)
3+ years product-related experience within a tech startup environment or high-growth SaaS organization
2+ years experience conducting user research and synthesizing customer feedback
Comfort managing stakeholders and distilling differing voices within a company and the ability to communicate at all levels cross-functionally
The ability to create a product roadmap that balances customer problems with business goals
Proficient with data; understanding what to measure and how
A vast understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), engineering processes, and how product releases gets designed, built, and released
Experience with Agile development practices including kanban and scrum
