Vice President of Operations

Versed is looking for a Vice President of Operations. Reporting to the COO, this role will oversee the logistics and fulfillment process and will work closely with our internal product development team and external stakeholders to ensure that inventory is in stock and orders are being fulfilled through multiple third party logistics providers. A firm understanding of current and projected sales velocity across all SKUs is needed as well as turn-around times and latencies for new product releases to meet launch/on-shelf deadlines. This requires communication and coordination between all facets of product development and manufacturing (i.e.: Ingredient lead times, filling and packaging turnaround, component and secondary packaging turnaround, shipping time to warehouse, etc).


Primary Responsibilities

  • Closely monitor the inventory position of our retailers daily and work directly with the retailer teams on concern resolution and pro-active opportunities to secure additional re-orders and insure optimal inventory health in all doors
  • Consistently analyze both retail and revenue performance and alert key management on potential impact to the forecast
  • Develop and maintain necessary workstreams and daily communication with internal operations and demand teams
  • Work closely with 3PL warehouse teams on sales orders, projections, timing, and order flow
  • Analyze core trends and NPD launches and inventory
  • Create and maintain production standards and sku/version methodologies
  • Analyze and plan material requirement (analysis of sales demand, sales trends, lead-times, production capacities, and inventory levels)
  • Daily review of inventory levels, monthly sales history, and future scheduled shipments to identify any necessary changes to current production plan
  • Identify and authorize volume purchases to reduce cost of goods
  • Ensure freight is performed in the most efficient manner possible and with visibility from dispatch to landing (and properly and quoted for the best price)
  • Communicate directly with high-level management and/or owners of suppliers
  • Manage relationships with vendors, component suppliers and subcontractors
  • Monitor and enhance all systems and connectors (specifically Netsuite, Celigo, and EDI connectors such as True Commerce) 


Qualifications and Experience

  • 8-10 years experience operations management in beauty industry
  • Familiarity with Netsuite or another ERPs and True Commerce (or other EDI providers)
  • Experience shipping to mass channels, specifically Target, Wal-Mart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Costco
  • Strong background with Microsoft Excel and/or another timeline-driven project management tool (e.g. Asana, Trello, etc.)
  • Heightened attention to detail with a willingness to work in all aspects within the production and fulfillment processes 
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships within an organizational structure and lead with a strong sense of community and collaboration
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Clear, concise business writing skills as well as verbal skills
