Vice President of Finance

San Francisco, CA

Rippling is looking to hire a VP of Finance, to be based in San Francisco, California. The role will directly report to the CFO and manage a high-performance team. The leader in this role will develop a 360 degree view of Rippling and lead the FP&A team with responsibility for budgeting, financial oversight and planning for all business units as well as coordination of the Strategic Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience set in high-growth SaaS companies through IPO, consolidated financial planning and analysis, and an ability to leverage data analytics to drive business decisions. It is critical that this individual have a passion for developing and nurturing business partner relationships across R&D, S&M, G&A, Customer Experience and Operations functions. This role is highly visible and will interact frequently with the CFO, CEO, COO, and other C-Level executives.


You will:

  • Develop cross-functional partnerships with business leaders across the company. Work with leaders of business groups to ensure forecasts and financial targets will be achieved. 
  • Create KPI and dashboard frameworks working with the Data Analytics team such that all KPIs have definitions, are tracked in real-time, and are integrated into the Company's financial model.
  • Ensure timely and accurate actual vs. forecast analysis as well as updates to the Finance team’s Quarterly Latest Estimate (QLE). Develop a consolidated view of key operating and financial metrics across the company.  
  • Lead planning discussions, including annual and quarterly planning, product margin analysis, monthly forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting with consideration for P&L impact.
  • Develop investor update materials, Board update materials, and quarterback financials for future fundraising processes and conduct diligence for potential acquisition scenarios. 
  • Lead executive and leadership discussions related to financial strategy, new product strategy and workstreams, as well as overall company and business line performance management.  


Requirements:

  • Ideally 15+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, MBA or equivalent preferred
  • SaaS industry experience in a high-growth startup or technology company through the IPO 
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor 
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing startup business as it scales at hyper-growth 
  • Relevant experience could be operating roles at startups or large tech companies, investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, or corporate planning and FP&A
  • Experience with SQL, Netsuite ERP, and Salesforce CRM is preferred 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required 
  • Passion for fast-paced entrepreneurial work environments
