VP, Multifamily Modeling and Analytics

The Vice President of Multifamily Modeling & Analytics reports to the SVP MF Capital Markets and is responsible for the build-out and support of predictive models to add value to the Multifamily business and meet corporate needs. Key models that this role is accountable for include Multifamily CreditWorks, Post Purchase Review, and Enterprise Capital NPV. This role’s primary customers include the Multifamily Capital Markets, Pricing, and CRT teams, the MF front-end business functions: Customer Engagement & MF Risk, as well as groups outside of Multifamily including Finance and Enterprise Risk Management. With the rapid advancement of technologies that drive analytics, this leader will create an environment that encourages innovation and reimagines how the works get done.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead the Multifamily Credit Works (MFCW) modeling including maintenance to address and support its key stakeholders and business objectives
  • Lead the assessment and proposal of changes to the Enterprise Regulatory Capital Framework (ERCF) Standard and support for FHFA
  • Manages development of capital treatments for new products (e.g., LIHTC equity)
  • Develop new and enhanced ERCF-based tools and metrics and support BU CFO with quarterly production process
  • Lead CRT Analytics including analysis and metrics for structure options, loan pools of new deals, ongoing monitoring of deal performance, and development of new deal features
  • Lead Multifamily Business Analytics including Post Purchase Review, Lender Risk, Sponsor Risk, and Maturity Management, development of next-gen portfolio optimization, and support for pricing desk
  • Support development and ongoing support of new models and tools, application of existing advanced tools (such as cash flows from MFCW), and other new analytics
  • Lead Modeling & Analytics support for DUS Now including comping models, win/loss probability model, confidence score methodologies for models, and features such as exit analysis
  • Work collaboratively with Enterprise Modelling and Model Risk Management to ensure models are appropriately developed, operated, and vetted. Ensure that models are able to meet external regulatory scrutiny.
  • Lead a team of Directors and Managers and demonstrate strong people leadership capabilities and ability to motivate a team to engage in project assignments and advise group and business leaders by providing recommendations for achieving the holistic vision
  • Act as a change agent with exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and resolving conflicts
  • Assimilate and comprehend complex information from multiple business areas and make/influence rapid fact-based decisions
  • Lead a team in a fast paced, iterative and agile environment. Recruit staff, develop talent, and build a high-performing and effective team of Directors and Managers


Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services including risk modelling and analytics with a strong preference for mortgage industry experience and a depth of expertise in Multifamily or Commercial Real Estate
  • Strong ability to collaborate with senior-level executives and across broad organizations including technology, risk management, operations, and finance
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into business terms and drive business decision making through data, including assimilating and comprehending complex information from multiple business areas to make/influence rapid fact-based decisions
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams ideally within a financial service or B2C technology environment
  • Player coach mentality with ability to pivot from strategic thought leadership to tactical implementation as needed
  • Proven results-oriented leadership; working with a sense of urgency and a focus on developing talent
  • Ability to weigh competing priorities, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic ideas with stakeholders, driving to consensus while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business priorities
  • Exceptional professionalism, integrity, dedication, high level of energy, excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal and relationship building and management skills.
