About the Role

Overview

The VP, Marketing Strategic Planning is a newly created role that will be primarily responsible for scaling the “business” of marketing. This will include gathering requirements from the business, distilling those into a narrative which will define intuitive projects and priorities across the entire global marketing organization. The ideal candidate will apply a management/strategy consulting approach by articulating outcomes to the business with KPIs aligned to the P&L and strategic growth initiatives.


About the Role - Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the end-to-end planning process for the global marketing organization (quarterly, and annual), collaborating closely with our marketing centers of excellence and corporate teams. This includes the development of operational models to identify key marketing priorities, optimization of campaign planning frameworks, headcount planning, budget and resource allocation, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with corporate finance and key business partners to ensure alignment between our strategic marketing approach and overall corporate strategy
  • Develop market overviews, understand market trends, and own new market entry strategies for marketing
  • Be on the forefront of B2B marketing trends, share industry best practices, and foster marketing innovation across the organization
  • Partner with our corporate finance and marketing analytics team to deliver strategic ROMI analysis that is grounded in business KPIs and ensure timely reporting to our marketing leadership team and key business partners
  • Build detailed financial models to help with optimizing resource allocation across marketing vehicles and geographies, and provide concise, actionable recommendations to the Marketing leadership team
  • Partner closely with the Marketing organization to implement and execute scalable processes for tracking and managing of strategic funding requests and triaging intra-quarter variances to plan


About You - Key Qualifications

  • 15+ years experience in B2B marketing or strategic consulting
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Good understanding of enterprise technology space with a focus on SaaS
  • Proven track record in growth/ acquisition marketing with the ability to analyze funnel and attribution.
  • Track record of consistently achieving or exceeding goals
  • Proven ability to identify strategic needs, develop recommendations, and lead growth
  • Effective professional interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate effective partnerships and gain stakeholder support across every level of the organization
  • Professional network and vendor connections to contribute to process development and improved solutions
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong analytical orientation
  • Ability to manage outside vendors as appropriate
  • Ability to work independently, while also contributing as a team player
  • An ability to artfully ask (and solution) ‘what’s possible?’
