What You’ll Do

As Vice President, Internal Audit your role will be to provide independent and objective assurance, advice, and insight on AppFolio’s internal controls, compliance, governance, and risk management programs to enable a long-term safe and sustainable business. In this role, your work will include:
Developing and implementing a three year Internal Audit strategy aligned with our risk philosophy as we grow as a company.
Deliver audit programs (Compliance, Operational and SOX 404) that are tailored to AppFolio, effective in mitigating key risks and aligned with our long term goals.
Build and retain a diverse, high performing Audit team with the right mix of internal and external experts.

Discretion & Confidentiality. Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, tact and poise in handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
Intelligence. Learns quickly. Demonstrates ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, business management, or information systems preferred
Current CPA, CIA, or CISA required
Experience working with technology/software companies with a compliance environment is preferred
Previous Public Company experience leading an internal audit function with reporting out directly to the Audit Committee
Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across the business
Ability to work in complex systems in an agile environment
Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills, including ability to summarize complex issues succinctly for a wide range of constituents
Strong understanding of internal audit standards, SOX, ITGC, PCAOB auditing standards, and COSO
Proficient in business processes and IT general controls (including application and infrastructure controls), and how they intersect with financial transactions
Thorough knowledge of enterprise risk management concepts and leading practices.
