Vice President, Finance

Saratoga Springs, NY

Death Wish Coffee Co. is looking to add a VP of Finance to our team! This role reports into our CFO/COO and will be responsible for leading and continuously enhancing the financial reporting, business intelligence, accounting, and treasury functions that support our customers’ needs. The core mission of this position is to provide financial leadership while encouraging profitable growth throughout the organization and will be an integral part of taking our iconic brand to the next level.   


Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and grow an engaged team of finance and accounting professionals through continuous feedback and development plans 
  • Lead Annual and interim Planning process and identify gaps and opportunities to achieve and exceed plan 
  • Manage and administer all accounting and treasury functions to meet the needs of the organization 
  • Identify and implement cost saving or revenue generating levers to help Death Wish Coffee meet or exceed financial goals and develop tools and/or systems to track progress of identified levers 
  • Lead the organizations business intelligence capabilities by driving data integrity and optimized decision making 
  • Develop, lead, and enhance our current reporting suite 
  • Develop and enhance a reporting index and system for continuous improvement across reporting 
  • Oversee and make improvements to inventory management reporting 
  • Automate manual processes to leverage team and systems as Death Wish Coffee expands and grows 
  • Research and implement best practices for accounting and finance team

Requirements: 

  • 10+ years of experience in an accounting and/or finance  
  • 5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, hire, lead and manage a high-performing team of finance professionals 
  • Expert level understanding of, and hands-on experience with, financial technology tools across ERP systems, accounting systems, and business intelligence tools 
  • Strong fundamental accounting and finance skills 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills 
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to identify key business drivers to align finance department resources against the most important needs of the business 


Bonus Points: 

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting 
  • Experience in NetSuite or similar accounting software 
  • Experience developing and or enhancing enterprise-wide reporting suite 
  • Previous experience in a high growth organization 
  • Experience with a CPG and/or manufacturing company 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a Full-Time Exempt, Flex to Death (FTD) eligible role. FTD is the way we work. We have core collaboration hours when we’re fully available to each other and outside of that we work whenever needed to successfully get our job done. We’ll talk more about this during the interview process!
