Vice President, Enterprise Data Strategy & Solution

New York, NY

The role will be responsible for evolving the current Enterprise Data practices into a mature competency within Estee Lauder, with the goal of defining, designing, managing, and delivering enterprise data strategy solutions for Estee Lauder globally.


You will be responsible for providing thought leadership on how the data ecosystem should align with SAP ECC, our Data Lake environment, CDP’s, and our new migration to SAP S4/Hana, with some knowledge of BI Tools (tableau, power bi, looker, etc.) to create information assets to meet program and operational needs of ELC.


This role will be responsible for building upon the existing foundation and strengthening our core around Master Data, Data Architecture, E2E Data Design, and Data Governance. Our goal is to mature our capabilities in this space, and this role is fundamental and critical in this journey.


This role also needs to demonstrate the ability to influence via collaboration and brining people along for the journey, and demonstrate excellence in delivery by ensuring plans, roadmaps, timelines, budget, headcount, org model and cohesive and comprehensive.


The Vice President of Enterprise Data will report to the Senior Vice President of Global Data & Analytic and Chief Analytics Officer and lead a growing team, along with off-shore & near-shore resources.


Responsibilities:

  • Experience managing large scale enterprise level programs and has experience with SAP S4/Hana.
  • Has led large transformations for former employers and has evolved & matured current Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Quality, Enterprise Data Management, and Data Design practices.
  • Has experience managing on-shore and off-shore teams and knows how to optimize operating models to ensure data entry, data operations, and data thought leadership is being performed by the right talent base with scale and speed.
  • Strategic thinker with passion for data quality and data management. Experience with data & analytics with SAP ERP solutions. Proven ability to provide strong leadership and people management skills; embrace/effect change and interact effectively with all levels of the organization. Success in matrix management and partnership environment. Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are key. Proven examples of transformational type of work.

Qualifications:

  • Has lead enterprise data transformations with prior employers
  • Has the ability to work with the business and translate data issues into business impacts, then pivot and work with IT to work on solutioning and configurations of Hierarchies & Taxonomy models.
  • Has SAP ECC and/or SAP S4/Hana implementation or support experience with in-depth knowledge of Hierarchies, Taxonomies, and creating relationships across Z-tables
  • Has experience with MDG
  • Has lead data governance, data stewardship, and data quality programs enterprise wide to include staffing, automated tools, and organizational changes. They will chair the data governance council.
  • Start a Data Architecture practice to ensure data is connected, cohesive, and complete and we source data from the source of truth, and make it available via API’s and services that can scale
  • Provide strategic leadership by using knowledge of the business and consumer environment to introduce new, relevant, and improved software solutions that facilitate data governance, data quality and master data management
  • Lead a global, cross functional team to define and implement organizational structures, policies, processes, and metrics to improve and maintain the quality of corporate ELC data (including data owners, stewards, and administrators)
  • Provide strategic leadership to the organization, both business and IT tracking and resolving data quality issues, manage projects to cleanse data and lead data quality improvement initiatives. Ensure development of data quality metrics align with best practice companies 
  • Must be a strong influencer and collaborator to bring all deliverables to a successful conclusion.
