Vice President, Digital Platforms

This role is part of the U.S. Banks’ business that is responsible for retail and private banking products and services across Morgan Stanley and E*TRADE. These include improving our existing lending, mortgages, and checking, savings etc. products, as well as developing and launching new offerings.

 

Position Summary:

The Digital Platforms team is responsible for building an industry-leading digital bank. This is a front to back renovation that includes significantly enhancing our websites, mobile apps, and internal tools with the latest technology and client experiences. These tools are used by clients, bankers, underwriters, and Advisors etc. We are embarking on a multi-year growth plan to deepen existing client engagement across all channels while expanding our product reach as part of our integration with E*TRADE.

 

We are seeking a high-performing team member to join our growing COO team. You will work directly with the Digital Platforms COO on a variety of strategic and operational efficiency initiatives across both Banking and Lending verticals. The successful candidate will be obsessed with solving both strategic and operational problems, have excellent people skills, be comfortable working in ambiguous and fast-paced situations, able to navigate a complex organization with humility and maturity, and be passionate about digital platforms.

 

This is a highly collaborative role, where you will work closely with our team of digital Product Managers as well as with cross-functional designers, engineers, operations, legal, risk, compliance, fraud, and business partners to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems. You will need to maintain control of a diverse set of business operations, so we expect you to juggle multiple initiatives in an efficient and effective manner.


ROLE:

  • Partner with Digital Platforms COO on various strategic initiatives (e.g., defining problem statements, sizing opportunities, competitor analyses, etc.) and lead business management activities (e.g., recruiting, learning & development, budgeting, ad-hoc team support, etc.)
  • Partner with PBG Digital Platforms leadership to define and document the team’s longer term strategic vision and technology roadmaps
  • Research digital banking and wealth management industry trends and clearly articulate findings to PBG Digital Platforms and our partner groups
  • Provide ad-hoc presentation assistance (e.g., storytelling, storyboarding, presentation of data) to PBG Digital Platforms team members when they are preparing persuasive executive-level presentations
  • Support opportunities to communicate the team’s strategic vision through multiple formats, e.g., strategic management presentations, town halls, risk committee meetings, team events and off-sites
  • Continually identify and act upon operational efficiency opportunities that will deliver value to PBG Digital Platform team members and partner teams


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Prior experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, CX, or related fields preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of experience; MBA experience preferred
  • Banking / Wealth Management experience a plus, but not required, open to candidates across industries
  • Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally and leading strategic and/or business management initiatives
  • Advanced in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with Agile delivery preferred

  • Excellent communicator with executive-level written and verbal presentation skills

  • Quickly develop a deep understanding of all Wealth Management products and services
