Executing and overseeing Operational Risk Framework monitoring, reporting and associated governance/escalation.


Analyzing and monitoring operational risk datasets to assess the Firm’s risk profile and identify themes.


Coordinating with colleagues who cover Business Units and Infrastructure Groups in discussing the impact of various framework governance changes.


Assisting in the execution of certain Operational Risk Framework components, i.e. Incidents, Issues and Actions, Taxonomies.


Monitoring and presenting program metrics and reports to summarize status for various senior management committees.


Creating clear, concise, and insightful materials in support of Senior Management reporting. Monitoring industry developments in the management of operational risk.


Participating in and provide ongoing support for audit and regulatory reviews and inquiries. 


Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $152,000 and $217000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs. 


QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

Requires a Master's degree in Economics and Finance, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as a Vice President, Associate, Analyst, or a related occupation.  


Requires three (3) years of experience with: Performing data analytics and reporting on operational risk framework components, including: incidents, issues, taxonomy, risk control self-assessment (RCSA), metrics, and key risk indicators; Distilling data insights and presenting observations to drive business risk decisions; Driving operational risk management process improvements in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices; Assisting and providing subject matter recommendations in enhancement initiatives on operational risk framework; Drafting guidance notes, providing interpretations on policies and procedures, and socializing changes across stakeholders; Using Excel formulas (IF, INDEX, MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, INDIRECT), Pivot Tables, and VBA programming to conduct data analytics on operational risk framework components; Sourcing data from data servers using SQL language; Building data models using DAX language; Conducting data cleansing and transformation using Power Query; and Designing interactive business intelligence dashboards using QlikView, Tableau, and PowerBI.
