VP Crew Planning & Analytics

The Vice President Crew Planning and Analytics invests in our People by overseeing the planning and support for Air Operations Crew initiatives and analytics and setting our Crews up for scheduling success.


This role is responsible for identifying and providing analytical and planning support for Crew initiatives and will lead the Teams that manage research and development, analytics, schedule construction, payroll, Flight Attendant and Pilot staffing, and training resource planning.

Responsibilities

  • Sets the long term vision and strategy and provides Executive direction and oversight to the Crew Planning & Analytics department
  • Prioritizes the continuous optimization of Crew schedule design in collaboration with Network Planning and Network Ops Planning
  • Partners with Network Planning and Network Ops Planning Executives to interpret and communicate fleet and network change impacts to Crew staffing
  • Manage pipeline of Crew Planning & Analytics Technology efforts to prioritize work based on impact, relevance, urgency, and Enterprise and Department-level demand
  • Prioritizes and guides initiatives to support an interconnected experience and excellence for Inflight and Flight Operations crew planning
  • Drives operational and cost improvements for Crew staffing, crew pairing, and irregular operations optimization
  • Cultivate, support, and encourage an organizational culture that provides for high morale, integrity, Teamwork and quality of life
  • Provides overall leadership and guidance to ensure that crew systems work in coordination with one another and with Aircraft
  • Partners closely with Labor regarding the Collective Bargaining Agreements representing crew members in developing policies and procedures.
  • Sets and maintains yearly and midterm budgets seeking to meet the corporate objectives vs. industry leading CASM
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of leading, influencing and motivating large teams
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication and public speaking
  • Expert knowledge of the business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, Leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of People and resources
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology which may include applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
  • Highly skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization’s strategic plan
  • Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information (such as speech, sounds, touch, or other sources)
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems


Education

  • Required High School Diploma or GED


Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams or functions through subordinate Leaders
  • Advanced level business acumen in Crew resourcing and contract administration with an understanding of broad business impacts
  • Expansive and far-reaching knowledge and experience in Crew Planning and Crew Automation applications

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
