Vice President – Consulting Services, Homeland Security

The VP will have overall responsibility for a portfolio of programs within the Department of Homeland Security. CGI is seeking an individual with demonstrated performance leading accounts, capturing deals, and managing program resources for profitable organic growth. Specifically, this role will be responsible for leading strategy and developing future opportunities with several bureaus within the Department of Homeland Security.


Your future duties and responsibilities:

The VP will have overall P&L responsibilities for a $30M+ book of business spanning over a dozen programs and projects across multiple agencies. In addition, he/she will work with other program leaders to drive profitable growth through strategic planning, identification of target customers and initiatives, management and direction of bid and proposal (B&P) resources, and formulation and execution of capture and proposal strategies. This VP collaborates with counterparts across CGI Federal to ensure best of breed solutions are brought forward to customers and ensures CGI is appropriately positioned within the client base. They will be expected to partner closely with the customer at the executive level to understand all IT objectives and goals are met. He/she will be responsible for helping shape the overall strategy and execution plans while providing management and delivery oversight to ensure desired milestones are achieved.


An important aspect of the role is building these capabilities within the broader team. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to subordinate VPs and Directors. This includes managing performance and developing/mentoring/coaching to help team grow professionally and achieve desired goals and outcomes. It also includes development of team’s capabilities and expertise in line with client needs/market evolution.


Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience leading major IT efforts within the federal government in areas such as digital transformation, agile software development, cloud hosting and federal financial management.
  • Demonstrated competence in both delivering large scale federal IT projects and business development/corporate growth.
  • Demonstrated history of winning large, competitive IT consulting contracts.
  • Solid relationships with key government contracting personnel in the company’s core business lines.
  • Ability to lead and guide large teams to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build win-win partnerships within a firm/corporation, with a particular focus on understanding how to leverage technology differentiators.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging business trends resulting in strategy recommendations to senior management.
  • Ability to constructively influence and interact at the highest levels of the company and in target customer agencies.
  • Excellent communication skills and highly effective interpersonal skills are required as well as an ability to inspire confidence and provide business development leadership throughout the company.
