Overview

JLL’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Advisory practice provides transaction advisory services nationally to public agencies, lenders, investors, and commercial real estate portfolio owners and occupiers across several industries including the transportation, energy, and water infrastructure sectors.  The team advises clients on matters related to complex financial structures, including non-recourse project financing and public-private partnerships (P3s), as well as municipal and corporate financings. The team regularly serves as financial advisor on infrastructure financing transactions ranging in size from $25 million to $2 billion and provides other related services, including project development, procurement assistance, project governance, financial and technical feasibility, business case analysis, risk management assistance, restructuring, workouts, loan portfolio management, and programmatic assistance.


The Vice President of Clean Energy will work to advance JLL’s client engagements in the renewable energy space. This subject-matter expert and leader will drive new client pursuits, deliver on client engagements, and work to upskill the broader and global Work Dynamics leadership on the value of renewable energy for JLL clients. This highly visible, executive facing role will advise JLL’s global clients to deliver upon their energy sustainability ambitions.


Location: this position can be located in any major U.S. City with travel to clients as needed.


Responsibilities:

Business Development and Sales Enablement

  • Work closely with broader Work Dynamics leadership to develop deep market expertise and become an internal and external renewable energy expert for new and existing client pursuits with particular emphasis on commercial sector clients
  • Join client connections and pitches to provide sustainability positioning and market differentiation around JLL’s renewable energy offering
  • Lead and assist in managing the overall business development and sales process, maintaining regular contact with your stakeholders to keep pursuits moving ahead and toward close
  • Maintain (with the marketing team) a pool of case studies, client success stories, testimonials, research and sales material which can be used in sales situations
  • Contribute to broader Product sales pitches and pursuits


Lead Generation

  • Focus on cultivating organic sales opportunities, and targeted messaging to specific client pursuits, with a goal of generating new leads, and helping win new work for JLL Work Dynamics
  • Lead the screening, prioritization and due diligence of potential client engagements with a view to maximizing commercial value
  • Maintain strong networks with industry representatives and key stakeholders in the areas of project development, financing, advisory, and technologies
  • Create linkages between lead generation marketing, and wider corporate marketing efforts, such as thought leadership, and broader brand-based marketing


Project Execution

  • Conduct due diligence and feasibility assessments on new and existing pursuits for viability
  • Continually work to expand JLL’s renewable energy offerings in onsite, offsite, and offsetting renewable energy solutions
  • Advise on energy, water, transportation/transit projects for public and private clients
  • Work to clearly articulate the value of renewables on global client portfolios and the ability to integrate solutions into broader infrastructure goals
  • Develop training materials and run workshops to develop infrastructure knowledge within Work Dynamics (working with product enablement, markets learning & development etc.)


Performance objectives:

Leadership

  • Position yourself and the team as the go-to experts within the business, and within the market, creating excitement and buy-in to our vision of being a leader in renewable energy & infrastructure advisory for global real estate clients 
  • Maintain strong relationships with senior executives across the business
  • Cultivate and train younger team members on advisory and technology solutions  


BD / Sales Enablement / Lead Generation

  • Measured by BD pipeline size, speed to conversion and margin performance working closely with broader business leadership
  • Maintaining a suite of sales enablement tools which supports the business, and particularly leads teams in winning work


Background and Experience:

  • University degree in business, finance, engineering, sustainability or in another relevant discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in renewable energy and/or infrastructure project development, origination, and advisory or in a related role.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization
  • Experience in and detailed understanding of commercial and regulatory markets, as it relates to project development and implementation
  • Proven change agent, collaborator, problem solver, creating win-win outcomes
  • Experience working with both public and private sector clients, through project development, implementation, and monitoring
