Our designers collaborate across the newsroom, product, tech, marketing and live event teams to tell holistic stories that add value to our audience's everyday lives.
The ideal candidate has a great eye for photography, enjoys finding unexpected images and is skilled in file organization and production work. This position reports to the Director of Photography.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a consistent style of photography across all platforms that aligns with Forbes’ Brand Guidelines.
- Photo Research for feature stories and lists:
- Research, edit and license imagery from stock sources, photographers and external sources.
- Research, organize and license headshots for notable Forbes lists, including 30 Over 30, 50 over 50, the Forbes 400, America’s Richest Self-Made Women, top athletes and more.
- Collaborate with Forbes international partners to update headshots or provide US images.
- Aid in the creation of timelines for photo deliverables on lists in collaboration with Sr. Photo Editor and Project Managers.
- Aid in the flow of post-production on photography for lists by suggesting retouching improvements, creating diptychs and resizing photographs.
- Proper image crediting and file organization on the Forbes’ servers and Digital Asset Management System (DAM)
- Knowledge of The Forbes Collection archival imagery dating back 10+ years.
- Knowledge of Forbes Event Photography systems and workflow.
- Distribute photos to internal colleagues such as editorial, PR, video, sales, marketing, etc …
The Ideal Candidate:
- BA/BFA in Photography or related field with 3-5 years of experience at a media or editorial publishing company.
- Comfortable working within a DAM system.
- A portfolio that demonstrates an eye for storytelling, excellent taste, a passion for photography and a keen sense of what will perform well across different digital platforms.
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player with strong communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced breaking news environment under tight deadlines.
- You enjoy staying current on creative trends and industry technology, sharing findings with the department to facilitate new ways of thinking, working and problem solving.
The hourly rate for this role is $35.00 - $35.00

In determining this range, we consider the experience, level of education (if applicable to the role), knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be had by a successful candidate as well as the budget and the company’s pay rates, generally.
