Tech Lead, Revenue Development

Dotdash is looking for an experienced technologist with a demonstrated track record of mentorship, innovative thinking, and technical excellence, to head up our new Revenue Development team. 


Working across the entire Dotdash portfolio of brands and sites, you will be partnering with business stakeholders to plan implementations of advertising, data management, and consent management platforms, as well as working alongside and guiding your team to deliver on these opportunities. You will have a direct and immediate impact on helping create, form and grow a new team in the revenue technology space at Dotdash.


About your contributions: 

  • Manage and mentor developers on your team, to grow their skills and prepare them for increased responsibility.
  • Lead discussions about project architecture and technical feasibility, make decisions, and justify your development approach.
  • Spearhead ad-tech integrations with our server-rendered sites, including using libraries like prebid.js to improve existing header-bidding functionality, or leveraging IAB standards guidance to enable new revenue partnerships.
  • Integrate with external consent and data management platforms such as OneTrust, Lotame and Permutive.
  • Experiment with upcoming ad technologies, such as server-side bidding or TURTLEDOVE; use metrics and data analytics to make informed recommendations to the business.
  • Develop a long term ad technology library that is scalable and reusable.
  • Vet new partners and technologies via performance testing and page speed results


About You:

  • 5+ years of experience with Javascript, preferably vanilla Javascript (ES5+) and NodeJS. Java experience is also an asset.
  • 1+ years of experience in managing reports, or a strong history of developer mentorship and guidance.
  • Comfortable using the tools of modern collaborative Agile+Scrum SDLC, including Git, Jira, planning poker, etc
  • Enjoy working and integrating with multiple third party providers in the ad technology space.
  • Experience in the programmatic advertising ecosystem; with IAB Standards such as OpenRTB, OpenDirect, and VAST; and with industry concepts like header bidding and consent management platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating and working with APIs, and integrating solutions from third party vendors.
  • An eye for performance, and page speed in the web space.
