YOUR MISSION

We are looking for an energetic design leader with a successful record to oversee PUMA’s International Running/Training Regional footwear design team. This person will be responsible for the design direction, design team management, and design process of the Running/Training Fast Team footwear line. This person will have an entrepreneurial spirit and a resume of experience that can lead a team of talented designers to create a successful regional product range that fulfills the ever-changing request of the running/training consumer. This person will manage a team of multiple designers.  

  • Oversee speed-to-market product design process to meet regional business needs. 
  • Manage the “Fast” Design Team which handles all regional product needs and off timeline projects.
  • Provide regional market research and design trend analysis in conjunction with inline and close to market key account timelines.
  • Design a full seasonal workload of footwear designs from concept to creation.
  • Manage speed to market calendar, as well as manage and update design resource tools, including toolbox and data base management.
  • Travel to Asia development office to address design/development issues, manufacturing processes (once possible), while building relationships with Asia development staff.
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive, constructive working environment for internal and external design staff.
  • Represent Running/Training Footwear Design in internal/external group meetings (Key Account meetings, line-freeze, signoff, finance, Sales, etc.)
  • Coordinate with inline design team, and other Business Units within PUMA.
  • Organize and participate in market travel to international and domestic markets and key accounts.


YOUR TALENT

  • 8+ years of performance and lifestyle footwear design experience, with at least some years of experience managing designers
  • Experience building direction from conception to sell-in.
  • Knowledge of the performance and lifestyle footwear industry.
  • Mastery of the footwear design process –including blueprint creation, shell corrections, material expertise, and cost-effective design expertise.
  • Expert level sketching/rapid visualization skills
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of U.S. key accounts (e.g., Footlocker, Finish Line, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, Famous, Rack, Off Broadway, Shoe Carnival, Shoe Show, Tier 2 Family accts).
  • Mastery of Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office and knowledge of Keyshot for 3D color/material rendering
  • Experience working in international setting
  • 25% domestic and international travel
