Tax Analyst

El Segundo, CA

In this role, you will work closely with members of the global tax and finance teams to help drive efficiency and facilitate the flow of accurate and timely tax compliance.  The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of tax accounting and/or indirect tax experience, analytical, project management and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks. 


This role reports to our Tax Manager. We are looking for someone to join our team immediately.


What you will do:

  • Coordinate with external service providers to monitor US sales/use tax compliance; Prepare and timely file the Canada GST/HST & Australia GST returns.
  • Process all incoming tax notices and bills and execute the company’s response to all tax notices, if necessary.
  • Support other indirect filings, such as property tax filings and payments, business license registrations and renewals, various gross receipts and excise tax returns, and others.
  • Prepare and post journal entries and update detailed tax account reconciliations via analysis and review of general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and completeness of amounts/balances.
  • Assist with providing information and responding to inquiries from internal financial auditors and external Governmental tax authorities.
  • Support tax team with other special projects by gathering documentation and preparing workpapers.
  • Research tax issues and document conclusions.


What you can bring:

  • 1-2 years of tax accounting and/or indirect tax experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • CPA a plus
  • Ability to process, reconcile and analyze electronic data
  • Public accounting and/or industry experience a plus
  • Other knowledge, skills or abilities:  Basic understanding of US and Canadian sales/use tax concepts; Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Experience with Excel, Avalara and Oracle are a plus
  • Self-starter with good judgement and strong organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and produce high quality work product in a fast-paced environment
