The Boeing Company is currently looking for an Entry Level Avionics Systems Engineer to join the Attack MS-COMM/NAV/ASE Team located in Mesa, Arizona. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design and integration of system avionics on the AH-64E Apache Helicopter and other vertical lift platforms.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include complex avionics development activities including pursuing advanced technologies, performing trade studies, developing technical approaches, decomposition, flowdown and traceability of system and software requirements, and system/subsystem verification testing.
  • Will be a member of a cross functional integrated product team. Responsible for close coordination with US Army and international customers to ensure implementation is responsive to requirements, using appropriate project integration methodologies, and project management practices.
  • Work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements. Analyze and translate requirements into system, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.
  • Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements in the laboratory environment and on the aircraft.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Solve problems concerning and provide other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Research specific technology advances for potential application to business needs. Some travel is required.


Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate across multiple disciplines with internal and external customers.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to use and navigate the internet and various computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and interpret technical data.
  • Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.


Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:

  • Related work experience, relevant work experience, or advanced degree preferred, but not required.


Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.


Other Relevant Information and Requirements:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required.
  • This position offer relocation assistance based on candidate eligibility.
  • This position is on 1st shift.
  • This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
