SVP, Regulatory Reporting Analytics

The SVP, Regulatory Reporting Analytics role is integral to the Global Regulatory Reporting Group, which is a high-profile function, providing financial information to the regulators including the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). 


The position will implement and deliver critical projects to ensure the quality of data used by various key regulatory reports, design and implement compensating controls to monitor and improve measurement of Critical Data Element (CDE) quality. The position will have a high level of visibility within the organization and a wide range of opportunities to work directly with Management. The incumbent will also build strong relationship with various groups throughout Citi, including Risk, Treasury, Controllers, SEC Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance & Risk Systems Operations, and Basel teams. In addition, this position will work collaboratively with the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) Central Coordination Team to help strengthen Citi’s FR Y-14 reporting process.


Job Responsibilities

The SVP, Regulatory Reporting Analytics role will use their subject matter expertise to:

  • Drive improvement of CDE data quality for key regulatory reports (Y9C/Call, Y14, Y15 etc.) with a focus on various financial products (securities, deposits, loans, derivatives, SFTs, debt, etc.) and balances (including P&L, spot and average balances.) 
  • Analyze key reporting production process documentation to identify data elements used by above mentioned key regulatory reports.
  • Work with report owner and report production team to monitor Data Quality Exceptions to identify real data concerns/issues as well as corresponding reporting impact and document accordingly Support Consent Order data related tasks (such as data lineage, reporting data requirement), working with Controller Data Team and Enterprise Chief Data Office.
  • Analyze underlying data and reporting lineage to identify root cause of issues and work with data stakeholders to drive solutions.
  • Review existing data quality controls and design fit-for-purpose data quality requirements.
  • Work with Regulatory Reporting report owners and technology to improve data quality metrics. 
  • Results oriented and will assess, evaluate, and analyze data challenges and provide recommendations on their resolution.
  • Data mining system ability using Power BI or Tableau SQL, RegInsight, and Excel to identify data quality issues in the underlying data used in key regulatory reports.
  • Collaborate with an array of teams and groups to continuously improve subject matter expertise and knowledge of industry practices and standards.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting with an understanding of the Regulatory Reporting industry preferred with 5+ years relevant to data analysis
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills coupled with strong finance and internal control skills
  • Familiar with regulatory reports, rules, and how data is consumed by various regulatory reports (e.g. Y14 or Y9C)
  • Familiar with Banking and Trading products along with the related critical data elements
  • Understanding of Citi’s strategic systems and data lineage and CDE transformations
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and influencing skills coupled with an ability to build a broad base of support among key decision makers at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating and building relationships and influencing across the organization
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment. Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, MS Office and related analytical software with Power BI or Tableau a plus
  • Experience in Citi’s Finance organization and processes
  • Lead data improvement projects driving data quality resolution. 
  • Deliver results with in depth analysis to identify the root cause of data quality issues, define problem, develop solutions, and track the resolution on the issue management system (ALM) 
  • Results oriented with demonstrated experience and ability to design and implement solution to satisfy various reporting requirements


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
  • CFA / CPA or other recognized certificate to demonstrate deep understanding of financial products a plus
