SVP, Compliance & Risk Management

We are searching for a SVP, Compliance & Risk Management who will be responsible for the enterprise-wide policy framework program and function, responsible for establishing internal strategies, policies, processes, and procedures to design and deliver a policy governance and risk management framework that maintains risk levels within the business’ risk appetite. In addition, engages with Governance Committee, in order to partner to develop and apply policy framework management program solutions that meet business and client needs, and faculties the Business Continuity Program ensuring the key company activities during a crisis are still operational.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, delivering and maintaining best-in-class enterprise-wide policy governance and management , programs, policies and practices.
  • Translating enterprise-wide risk strategy and goals across Bounteous' clients, products and geographies in a succinct and clear manner; provide direction and guidance on the programs. Serves as a subject matter expert on Bounteous' policy governance and management programs.
  • Providing oversight and guidance over the assessment of complex issues, structuring potential solutions and driving effective resolution with other stakeholders.
  • Identifying and assessing Bounteous' key policy-related risks. Ensuring these risks within Bounteous are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled, consistent with the bank’s risk appetite statement and all policies and processes established within the risk governance framework.
  • Monitoring adherence to Bounteous' Policies and measuring adherence risk through a robust control framework and ensuring that reviews are conducted consistently across each entity on a regular basis to confirm that controls identified are operating effectively.
  • Performing complex analyses of comparative data, preparing and presenting regional and global reports related to compliance risk assessments, and monitoring of compliance related issues.
  • Partnering, collaborating and working with other Competencies and Business Units within Bounteous, as necessary.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policy changes in order to further identify new risk areas.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the business' reputation and safeguarding Bounteous, its clients and assets, by being in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Keeping the Board of Directors up to date on Business Compliance and Risks to the business.


Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 10 years experience in controls, risk management or equivalent, with a focus on financial services, preferably policy management and development and/or related risk management areas
  • Experience within the Fintech, IT, Software Development background
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services laws, rules, regulations
  • Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive
  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented, organized
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging
  • Ability to work collaboratively with regional and global partners in other business units; ability to navigate a complex organization; to influence and lead people across cultures at a senior level
  • Experience in managing regulatory exams and relationships with examiners, auditors etc.
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements including local and US laws, international and industry standards
  • Advanced knowledge in area of focus
  • Bachelor’s/University degree
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience, J.D. or M.B.A. preferred
  • Rock Star Status
  • 15+ years financial service industry experience - Compliance experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous compliance, internal audit, or compliance testing experience preferred
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience, J.D. or M.B.A. preferred
