Sustainability Strategist/LCA Expert

Saint Bernard, OH

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies with a focus on carbon accounting, certifications aligning with the Green House Gas (GHG) World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and PACT (Partnership for Carbon Transparency) guidelines.
  • Conduct detailed Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for products and services, identifying key areas for environmental impact reduction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into business operations.
  • Analyze carbon footprint data and devise strategies to achieve carbon neutrality or reduction targets.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory m developments and play a leading role in advocacy based on good science to enable advancements in sustainability, particularly in carbon accounting and reporting standards.
  • Educate and guide internal stakeholders on sustainability practices, WBCSD/PACT standards, and LCA methodologies.
  • Lead sustainability certifications ensuring transparency and adherence to international standards.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including suppliers and partners, to promote sustainable practices along the supply chain.
  • Participate in sustainability audits, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals.


Qualifications

  • PhD degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field.
  • Proven experience in sustainability strategy, particularly in carbon accounting and LCA.
  • Strong understanding of GHG protocol, WBCSD and PACT frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficient in LCA software and carbon accounting tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence various stakeholders.
  • Commitment to staying informed on emerging sustainability trends and technologies.
