Sustainability/Smart Energy Analyst

AECOM is seeking a Sustainability/Smart Energy Analyst to support our growing Energy Business line.

This position is expected to begin in June 2022.

Our team provides a wide range of electrical engineering services across markets sectors including transmission (substations, OH/UG transmission systems, generator interconnections, interconnection strategy), power distribution (OH/UG power systems, substations, EV charging networks, microgrid design, etc.), renewables (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind), and next-generation energy (hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolyzers, etc.).

We are looking for a new college graduate with a passion for renewable energy interest in solar PV design and power engineering. The successful candidate is expected to be a detail orientated engineer who can make decisions independently under the guidance of senior staff.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Under direct supervision, provides analysis on projects. Executes work plans and task definition participates in data collection.
  • Participates in the development of solutions to client problems with a focus on financial analysis and capital investment under the guidance of a more senior manager.
  • Assigned as a consultant to a wide variety of areas.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, economics, policy, business, or related field
  • Experience should include a background in one or more of the following: energy, sustainability, resilience, smart city technology, or climate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree desired in engineering, business, economics, policy, or related field
  • US Security Clearance is a plus
  • Previous utility or municipal government work experience
  • Familiarity with fault detection and diagnostic analytics platforms, including integration with building automation systems and related programming experience (ex. Python)
