Primary Function:

Energy Management is Schneider Electric’s largest business (€22bn in revenues in 2021) focusing on driving Sustainability and Digital transformation across homes, buildings, data centers and infrastructure. As a Manager, Decarbonization Strategy & Transformation, you will have a unique & exciting opportunity to help Schneider and its customers achieve our climate ambitions. You will be expected to collaborate strongly with different businesses to help Schneider define and achieve the strategic priorities that will enable us to meet our sustainability commitments. The role reports to the Vice-President, Decarbonization for Energy Management.

 

Job Location: Boston, USA or France (Paris or Grenoble)

 

Main Responsibilities include:

  1. Work closely with business division and corporate sustainability teams to track, report, and forecast carbon emissions data associated with each line of business, including partnering to develop, socialize, and publish guidance and methodology documentation
  2. Manage and support initiatives, stakeholders, and governance at multiple levels to expand, automate, and digitize data and tools related to the carbon footprint of Schneider’s products, solutions, and services, and helping customers reduce their own carbon footprints
  3. Support businesses with ideas, thought leadership, and strategies to accelerate decarbonization of their products, solutions, and offers
  4. Help to establish short, medium, and long-term targets related to Schneider’s net zero commitment and other sustainability goals
  5. Drive implementation of other sustainability initiatives as needed, including regular reporting & communication

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in environmental management, business, or engineering
  • 5+ years of total work experience, including at least 2 years managing sustainability programs at a large organization
  • Passionate about climate change and circular economy; strong subject-matter expertise on issues related to climate change, GHG emissions, circular economy, sustainability
  • Deep expertise in sustainability data, particularly related to GHG emissions calculations and reporting, including:
  • Familiarity with a range of approaches to target-setting, including science-based targets
  • Experience in conducting product carbon footprints, Life Cycle Assessments, Scope 3 carbon calculations
  • Understanding of the emerging landscape related to carbon calculations, particularly related to product use and avoided emissions
  • Understanding of energy management and distribution technologies and solutions
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to screen and quickly absorb information on various topics from multiple sources and synthesize it to make meaningful recommendations; resilient and solutions-oriented in the face of incomplete or inconsistent information. Excited about working with numbers, building models and quantitative analyses, and setting clear and consistent methodologies
  • Able to translate and communicate effectively between expert and non-expert audiences
  • Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management and facilitation skills; able to set clear guidance and project plans, and effectively hold teams accountable to project deliverables, partnering to find solutions where needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills:
  • Collaborative and a team player
  • Driven but balanced; thoughtful and passionate about success of the collective team
  • Open-minded, active listener, understands and values others' views
  • Ability to connect with people, build teams and networks, and communicate effectively with different stakeholders to bring alignment and support
  • Able to liaise effectively with counterparts from different parts of the organization, including senior executives
  • International, multicultural mind-set and approach
  • Driven self-starter with ability to execute in a fast-paced & constantly evolving global environment
  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative and open to travel as needed
  • Other: excellent MS PowerPoint and Excel skills; experience in project management tools a plus
