Sustainability & Content Specialist

Raleigh, NC

The Social Mission & Content Specialist will support the Director of Sustainability & Social Mission in the execution of the company giveback and volunteer programs, mission critical certifications, and sustainability objectives. This position will also support the Director of Marketing in planning and managing content calendars as well as building engagement across social media channels.


Duties/Responsibilities:

SUSTAINABILITY

  • Provide company-wide ongoing training on Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWTL) initiative
  • Monitor waste streams for proper usage of bins, heavy interaction with operations to ensure proper training on bins to support achievement of ZWTL
  • ZWTL vendor management
  • Ongoing carbon accounting, calculating scope 1-3 emissions
  • Work with operations and Director of Sustainability & Social Mission to set energy reduction goals
  • Coordinate company-wide lunch & learns: planning, facilitating, & reviewing feedback
  • B Corp Certification assistance: Work with Director of Sustainability & Social Mission to identify and implement areas of improvement using the B Corp assessment and latest scoring
  • Plan quarterly volunteer activities with nonprofits & coordinate with company
  • Fulfill in-kind donation requests & log into inventory management system
  • Assist Director of Sustainability & Social Mission with creating and implementing formal supplier assessment documentation
  • Coordinate and manage company wide wellness initiatives


CONTENT

  • Ensure sustainability and social mission efforts are clearly communicated throughout all social platforms
  • Coordinate with Brand Manager to incorporate sustainability messaging throughout content calendar 
  • Develop social media plans for sustainability initiatives and milestones, as well as product launches and other GTM programs
  • Serve as liaison between marketing and social mission team, occasionally sales team to promote news / wins
  • Build social reach and engagement across key social media platforms - instagram, facebook, tiktok, and linkedin
  • Act as editor and media producer (film and photo) for social platforms. Coordinate with creative agencies where needed to communicate deliverables and ensure they are executed.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite proficiency, specifically Excel or Sheets
  • Experience in a fast paced startup environment is a plus
  • Experience working with a certified B Corporation or mission driven business is a plus
  • Experience creating content across social media platforms

Hours: Full-Time (40 hrs./week), Monday through Friday, occasional weekend support
