Strategy Intern

We’re looking for two graduate student interns who are passionate about transportation to support the Policy and Business Development teams this summer. The Strategy Interns will support and learn from multiple May Mobility teams, focusing on prospective cities with Policy & Advocacy, Business Development, and Field Autonomy Engineering. The Strategy Internships can have either a policy focus or a strategic growth focus, depending on the student’s skillset and preference. This internship will run for 8-12 weeks, also depending on the student’s preference. 


Job Priorities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Learn, support and analyze May Mobility’s transportation assessment process
  • Identify the local permit, planning, and policy processes for key prospects
  • Conduct opportunity sizing for go to market strategies
  • Identify go to market partners and develop partnership strategy 
  • Attend relevant webinars and online events on behalf of the team
  • Scan competitive industry trends and conducting business intelligence to produce business landscape status reports


Deliverables

A case study or final report, including but not limited to:

  • How May Mobility can complement the city’s existing transportation service
  • Evaluation of integration with other micro-mobility services and platforms
  • Sample routing
  • Sample licensing, permitting, and legal process
  • Community needs and service impact analysis


Qualifications and Skills

  • Coursework in urban planning, transportation planning, public policy, political science, statistics, and/or economics
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills across multiple platforms 
  • Ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to approach problems in a methodical and process-oriented manner
  • Proven experience in quickly identifying and solving complex problems
  • Attention to detail
