Strategic Planning & Operations Manager

Johnson & Johnson Innovation, JLABS (“JLABS”) is a division of Johnson & Johnson Innovation (“JJI”) and is a network of life science incubators providing emerging companies many of the advantages of being in a big company, without the capital investment. JLABS offers singular bench tops, modular wet lab units and office space on a short-term basis, allowing companies to pay only for the space they need, with an option to quickly expand when they have the resources to do so. Companies residing at JLABS also have access to core research labs hosting specialized capital equipment and shared administrative areas. In addition to the bricks and mortar space, JLABS runs a series of business competitions called the JLABS QuickFire Challenges. The JLABS QuickFire Challenges are competitions designed to unleash the competitive spirit of the innovation ecosystem and inspire the best in science and technology by providing real world challenges and granting a variety of awards to the top applicants. These Challenges have attracted game-changing, early-stage innovation in the Therapeutics, Consumer, Health Technologies and Med Device sectors and have offered a variety of awards, including: grants and/or lab space, benefits from world-class lab facilities, support by an onsite team and access to a global network of industry experts and programming.


JLABS is recruiting a Strategic Planning & Operations Manager, JLABS QuickFire Challenge. This position will be responsible for supporting the strategic planning, development and implementation of the tools and resources needed for the successful completion of each JLABS QuickFire Challenge. To that end, this position will play an integral role in working with internal and external partners to scope the strategy and goals for each QuickFire Challenge, align with project plans and timelines, design and implement the application materials to identify and collect relevant applicant information based on each QuickFire Challenges strategy, lead working group meetings with internal and external stakeholders and manage the collection and assessment of the data collected via the JLABS QuickFire Challenge. This position will also manage all communications with applicants, finalists and winners of each challenge and support the companies as a member of the JLABS global community.  This position will also be responsible for the continued maintenance & improvement of the QuickFire Challenge toolkit, playbook, and other operational materials. Additionally, this position will assist in the ongoing strategy, scaling and future state of the QuickFire Challenges.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline is required.
  • A proven performer with a minimum of 6+ years of consulting or equivalent experience is required.
  • Strong business writing and presentation skills are preferred
  • Experience in a health care setting or industry association is preferred.
  • Experience working with and managing vendors and consultants, and managing budgets is preferred.
  • Must be detail orientated and have strong personal leadership skills.
