Strategic Finance Lead

As our first dedicated finance hire, the Strategic Finance Lead will report directly to the CEO and play a critical role in drafting our company-wide budget, managing expenses, surfacing strategic insights, and owning both internal and external reporting. We are looking for an analytically rigorous & high velocity self-starter, who is eager to build new processes, have true ownership of a vital function, and work collaboratively across divisions to achieve our company wide goals.


As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Own our financial model & forecasting to drive better allocation decisions; work with senior management of each department to build our annual budget
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting (internal management summaries, board presentations, fundraising materials)
  • Analyze financial results, surface key insights, work with senior management to flex our spend and operating plan to meet objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to synthesize and integrate updates relating to variances in actual procurement activity relative to budget forecasts to provide an expected forecasts
  • Become embedded with business partners across the company, establishing trust, building relationships and gaining a deep understanding of relevant drivers
  • Support executive management by providing timely ad hoc reporting on critical issues


Qualifications

  • 3 - 5+ years of work in investment banking, private equity, and/or startup experience
  • Excellent in financial modeling, and knowledgeable of foundational accounting principles
  • Deeply insightful, able to distill trends from data into actionable takeaways
  • High velocity self starter, able to manage ambiguity and multiple tasks against deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Skilled in Excel, Powerpoint and NetSuite
