Strategic Account Executive

Sodexo is currently seeking a Strategic Account Executives. Reporting to the Vice President, CLM, the Strategic Account Executive is responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts for both new and horizontal sales processes under Sodexo's Clients for Life process.


The Strategic Account Executive ensures client satisfaction with Sodexo services and secures continued business development opportunities for the Company. The Strategic Account Executive maintains and maximizes client relationships to develops business offerings that improve client operations and reduce operating costs based on knowledge of organizational strengths and weaknesses, technological advances, external trends, competitors, and customer needs.


This is a Remote opportunity and the successful candidate preferably residing in the Northeast Region!


Position will require up to 20% travel within designated region.


Responsibilities include:

  • Proactively drive sustainable / profitable growth and retention by ensuring execution of relationship management best practices.Ensure relationship management activities are of high-quality (focused on content vs. process).Collaborate and drive Operations to elevate partnerships with clients, resulting in demonstratable value for both organizations.Proactively drive sustainable / profitable growth and retention by ensuring execution of relationship management best practices. Ensure relationship management activities are of high-quality (focused on content vs. process)Collaborate and drive Operations to elevate partnerships with clients, resulting in demonstratable value for both organizations.Execute relationship management support at key moments - periodic support for distressed accounts.Relationship management oversight and quality assurance. Ensure relationship management activities are of high quality by guiding and supporting operations.Responsible for identifying and developing holistic territory management strategy in collaboration with operations and sales leadership in assigned territory.Track execution of relationship management and operations activities through account plans and CRM, Client Relationship Management system.Provide direct relationship management support during key contract milestones and to distressed accounts. Develop key action plans and ensure completion of identified actions for distressed accounts.


Preferred Qualifications & Experiences:

  • 3 to 5 Years’ Experience in strategic roles as key account managers, account executive or related areasComfortable working at all levels of a Health Care organization.Solid knowledge of the Hospitality Industry services such as Environmental, Food, and Facilities.Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to partner with and influence senior leaders.Possess strong interpersonal skills. Ability to establish relationships with a diverse group of clients, team members and all levels in a web of influence.High proficiency in MS Office Products (Excel), Salesforce or similar CRMKnowledge of working with both sales and operations teams in a sales environmentSolid financial acumen and understanding of financial systems and both costing/pricing of business.Ability to work on complex deals, including long sales processes of up to 24 months, with the stamina to see a project through to success.

Position Summary

  • 20% - Facilitate development of Client Executives from a purely execution focused mind-set to client/ consumer - centric growth mindset
  • Lead annual business planning process to proactively map regional activities (1-3 year outlook)Responsible for identifying and developing holistic territory management strategy in collaboration with operations and sales leadership in assigned territory
  • 30% - Key activities performed in close coordination with Operations, Sales, Client Relations, and BIGS / Op Ex
  • Execute relationship management support at key moments - periodic support for distressed accountsRelationship management oversight and quality assurance. Ensure relationship management activities are of high quality by guiding and supporting operationsPerform independent assessment of relationship health and operational excellence to identify pain points and opportunitiesExecute a portfolio review to inform resource allocation (mobilization, technical other ops support) and identify opportunities
  • 30% - Track execution of relationship management and operations activities through account plans and CRM
  • Ensure Quality of relationship management activities through oversight and coachingCounsel Operations on relationship management best practicesProvide direct relationship management support during key contract milestones and to distressed accounts (e.g. AEMs and QBRs). Develop necessary action plans and ensure completion of identified actions for distressed accounts.
  • 20% - Travel to client sites. Participation and co-facilitation of QBRs and / or CFL activities (minimum quarterly visits)


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Basic Education Requirement: Bachelors degree or equivalent experienceBasic Functional Experience: 7 years
