Sr. Market Intelligence Analyst

Gathers, analyzes, and interprets marketplace trends and customer/competitor data, creating in-depth analysis and visibility into competitive strategies to defend and grow Owens & Minor’s market share.  Monitors market conditions, trends, competitors, etc. to project business sector/customer demand and inform product launch timing. Researches competitor behavior (marketing strategies, pricing, sales, operation methods, etc.).  Identifies purchasing behaviors, price/discount sensitivity, brand loyalty, etc. across customer segments and sales channels.  Simulates the impact of proposed marketing campaigns and measures results against targets.


Core Responsibilities

  • Utilizes institutional knowledge and access to public information to identify/track market and competitor trends.  Identifies competitor strengths and weaknesses, and supports subsequent marketing activities.
  • Works with Marketing/Sales teams to ensure marketing materials are continually updated to exploit company strengths and opportunities.
  • Structures data and processes to ensure sustainability of market intelligence analysis. Presents data and analytical insights that enable sound decision-making.
  • Analyzes financial data, developing and presenting executive summary reports for the business.
  • Develops deep knowledge of the company’s business strategy plans, deriving leverageable insights so business/functional/product leaders can capitalize on key opportunity areas.
  • Partners with business and leadership teams to identify key business drivers.  Develops high-impact executive-facing dashboards to drive progress against key metrics.
  • Performs additional duties as directed.


Qualifying Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in related field (Marketing, Business, Finance, etc.); MBA highly preferred
  • 5 or more years of related experience (marketing, business intelligence/analytics, etc.), preferably within healthcare/consulting industry
  • Or any combination of relevant education and experience to meet the above requirements
  • Ability to operate with an ownership mindset and be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to ask smart questions and move things forward with minimal direction
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Expert level Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels in the organization
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with expeditious execution in fast paced, results oriented, team environment
  • Ability to develop cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to adapt to message
  • Knowledge of financial and operational principles
  • Extensive problem solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
